Kerfoot is not a top line forward and the isles have no interest in absorbing his salary for nothing

Not that a think CBJ should do that trade, but neither should the Leafs. LWers Robertson and Steeves should be Leafs at the same cap combined as Texier, and it gives the Leafs a 22 man roster. Clifford should not be Leaf.

Lmao please tell me why we need another 3rd line all defence winger? And also please tell me why we would help TOR out of a cap crunch?

Because the 3rd line all defence winger had over 50 points last season at a 3.5 million cap hit, Isles can use that kind of player on their team or else they would have made the playoffs last year.

Points are a terrible predictor of future impact and just an ok identifier of past impact. When someone plays with very good players he will inevitably score some points. That doesnt mean he helped his team offensively.

You also still havent answered the big question. Why would the isles help the leafs out of a cap crunch? Have you not seen how much cap space is worth? Yet you expect NYI to pay a 2nd for an all defence no offence 3rd line W making 3.5m??????

Because I see how you’re thinking but it’s not correct. Kerfoot is not a negative value player like Monahan or Zaitsev, since the Leafs are in a cap crunch we will have to sell him for less than what he’s worth but definitely won’t be paying to move him, same with Muzzin. Notice Fiala trade, he’s a way better player but everyone knew of Minnys cap crunch.

Yeah but 3rd line all defence Ws dont get paid 3.5 he is a negative value player rn and nobody is helping you out of your cap crunch. And if a 2nd is a discount for kerfoot youre really delusional.
Answer me this what team wants kerfoot rn? What team would be willing to pay to get 3.5m kerfoot rn. Answer is nobody. Bc nobody thats competing has the cap space for him except for DAL and NYI. DAL has 2 big RFAs to sign so they dont really have the cap space for him and NYI has no roster space for him.

He’s also a very capable Center, idk where you are getting just a winger from he’s very versatile. He’s definitely not a negative player. I’d say a 2nd is fair value for him right now but because of teams situations we would probably get a 3rd for him which is still fine

Oliver Bjorkstrand's averaged 28 G/82 GP over the past 4 seasons and only brought back a 3rd and a 4th. Cap space is golden right now, and teams aren't going to be lining up to spend a pick on a middle-6 guy with a $3.5M cap hit - especially when it's obvious that Toronto needs the cap space to run a full roster. I don't think you have to *pay* to move Kerfoot, but there's no way you're getting back a premium asset for him.
