Very fast, good on the penalty kill but has stones for hands and cant score on the chances his speed creates.

(CBJ/BUF) - Robinson for conditional 2025 7th (NSH)
CBJ get 1.6 mil in cap space for free, Buffalo gets a winger they can use while their whole team is injured. Pretty fair trade but leans slightly in CBJs favor because Robinson is not worth 1.6mil.

New coach New GM
This is a mess, a few things:
1.) Bean does not get that much money lol, if he is resigned its a prove it deal for 1 year at 2mil. I HIGHLY doubt he is resigned with all the good prospects we have coming up that can play the LD spot (Mateychuk, Svozil, Blanks, Etc.)
2.) Elvis and Gudbranson are probs the only 2 bright spots this season... they are both playing up to their contracts right now, they are not getting bought out.

Get it done Jarmo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hopefullynextyear</b></div><div>I think this team needs a stabilizer in order to be playing somewhat meaningful games in March and April. They look overwhelmed often and need a high end veteran in the middle of the ice. Assuming that Lindholm will sign an extension, I think Jarmo needs to make a move like this in order to prevent the season being over in December.</div></div>
TBH the season is already over... we've won 1 game in our last 11 and officially have a worst start than what we had last year where we finished with the second worst record in the league... Yes the Blues made a miracle happen and won a cup with a similar start but CBJ don't have the mindset and mental strength to pull through this. The season is over and there is no way we trade that 1st round pick anymore. Lindholm would have to sign with us in the off season as a UFA or we do a sign and trade like we did with Severson (which is not working out cause he is playing like garbage right now) if Lindholm wants a final 8 year contract for his career.

For CBJ I'd think they would say no because Elvis has shown improvement this year while Jarry has regressed and is doing worse than last year.

Next year
Only change I see that is possible is that Elvis gets bought out if he has another terrible year so we can afford to sign a real starting goaltender so we can push for a playoff spot while we have Fantilli/Jiricek on their ELCs for 2 more seasons

Jiricek and Mateychuk both making the team
Jiricek isn't going to make the team. He has not looked great in any games (Traverse City Prospect Tournament / Preseason games) so far. He needs to clean up his defensive side of the game and some decision making.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bricher33</b></div><div>I don't see Jiri moving but this is much more inline with what i was thinking. I could see maybe a Stan or Maty replacing Jiri along with more on the picks end or another kicker prospect ie. Del bel or Dumais. I really don't see Jarmo moving a high end RHD since those are almost as rare as centers.</div></div>
For a player of EP's caliber it takes one of KJ or Jiricek 100%. You do not get EP without one of them included and I rather trade Jiricek than KJ. But I suppose they can be interchangeable in a trade like this.

If Petey forces his way out next summer
KJ, imo, is untouchable right now. Other CBJ fans think Jiricek is also untouchable but I'll allow it in this instance. A trade for Petey wanting out next summer would be around a Eichel return not Tkachuk since Calgary wanted to still compete so that trade really isn't comparable. This trade would be a mini retool and to shorten any rebuild Van would have to commit to (also similar to what Buffalo has done). With that you get the following:
- a 50 pt. a season player (23-25 years old)
- a young prospect (mid 1st round)
- mid 1st round pick
- mid 2nd round pick
Now lets say EP is worth more then Eichel was at that time (Which is true since Eichel had an unknown with his neck) so lets bump that "a young prospect (mid 1st round)" to a coveted prospect who was drafted at the top of the draft (Jiricek). Then you have Cole Silinger who is the Krebs part of this trade. Then you have the 2025 1st (which should be a mid 1st rounder) and then we add a 2nd the following year.
We get this as the final trade:
From Van:
- EP
From CBJ:
- Cole Sillinger
- Jiricek
- 2025 1st
- 2026 2nd
This is the most I can see Jarmo offering IMO. I know you, based off comments already, will hate this trade but for the sake of argument I thought I would add my 2 cents.

Would this get it done
CBJ actually do not have cap space left to make this trade... We cant take on any more cap due to the PERFORMANCE BONUSES of our ELC players. If we brought on more Cap we would go over and have less cap space next season when we would needed to resign a ton of our top young players and hopefully be active in free agency to finally make the jump to being a playoff contender.

Wait, according to Habs fans I thought Petry was suppose to return a 3rd + a good young defenseman/prospect for only like 20% retention.

Those returns are too high. CBJ most likely play competitive hockey til the last few weeks of the year when they'll fall out of wild card contention. Still will be a fun season tho! I do agree that the following season could be when we make the jump tho, as long as Elvis or Tarasov can solidify themselves as a reliable starter.

You guys are all in this season and this season only. He isn't trading anyone and then you'll have an exodus next summer. Similar to CBJ in 2018-2019. Also that's way too much from CBJ for Lindholm

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>He cant even figure out that this ACGM is from 2024-25. Petry has a 1 year left. Its looking more and more like hes a TDL or next offseason move. The guy completely ignores that bad money is coming back with Boqvist whos a 3rd pair at best replacement level defender. Hayes is a forward, with more term and had no money come back in the deal. It's illogical nonsense from these homers to compare Petry to Hayes here.</div></div>
Apologies for not seeing the year but you don't have to be an absolute **** about it. Petry will not get anything close to the return posted here unless Boqvist has another injury filled season. If he again plays 50+ games and does well on the PP2 unit there is no way he gets moved for a player similar to Petry.
Cap is and will still be a struggle next off season. Petry gets paid too much and unless you retain 50% the return he will get is a 3rd rounder max. If you retain 50% at next seasons (2024-2025) deadline when some teams may have cap space due to LTIR and a need for a 3RD you may be able to get more for him but your value of him is currently too high.
Boqvist is not an "at best replacement defender" LMFAO

This trade retains only 1mil not the full 50%. MAYBE at 50% retained he gets a return but even at 50% its not getting the return offered in this ACGM.
The amount of times I have seen people say "This player has value at whatever retention" and then the return is 0 with that retention this summer has been often. Taylor Hall got NOTHING, Hayes (Flyers fans were saying him at 50% retained should get them a 2nd at the least) Hayes returned a 6th LMAO. Petry will not yield any return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>How is Petry a cap dump at 2.3 million? He's still a useful 4-5 dman and at that AAV would be making below market value according to every analytic model</div></div>
This retention puts him at 3,687,500 for 2 (TWO) years. Have you seen players being traded this summer with cap hits like this for any return? Ryan Johansen got nothing in return when going to Colorado at 50% retained at 4mil for 2 years remaining, Taylor Hall practically got moved for nothing when being traded to Chicago with 6 mil AAV for 2 more years, and Kevin Hayes got 0 return when being traded to St. Louis with 3.5mil AAV left for 3 years. The answer is absolutely not that Petry get any much of a return if he is traded again. Petry also doesn't want to be in Canada you have 0 leverage in a situation like this.

Stop lol, there is a reason we see Boqvist to the Habs in like 5 ACGM posts a day. He isn't a C level prospect/player, he is a future top 4 Dman PP specialist at his ceiling and at his floor he is a 5-6 Dman and PP specialist.
Also what in Jarmo's history says otherwise?
