Lehners contracts not that bad...

Ironically Lehner's contract at the time was a steal. Hes faded a bit but still putting up alright numbers

Now Binnington's contract is a different story.....

Y’know, I often wonder what the opportunity cost is of not trading the 10th overall pick, given that the Sens chose to waste it instead. Like, how much extra would it have cost to trade up 1 spot and take Guenther? I’m not too enthralled with Ostapchuk, Roger, Johansson, Latimer, or Romeo either so I legitimately woulda traded every other pick to move up 1 slot (likely only woulda taken like, the later 2nd or the 3rd though). Or we coulda traded it for an established player, like Boeser. Sens are very lucky the 2019 and 2020 drafts went incredibly well lol, cuz the 2021 draft was an L top to bottom.

Maybe not. Especially when compared to Grubauer. This guy is Swiss cheese in net.

I still dont get what Dorion was thinking with that pick. Like I get he was trying to get guys for the bottom 6 but then why take Boucher 10th OA. Trade down like Calgary did to get Zary

What makes it worse is Sillinger being in the NHL and having himself a season. With Pinto's injury Sillinger would have been a nice fill in.

Yeah it was an L. And I don't even mean in the sense of there were so many (obvious) better players available, but like, teams LOVE top 10 picks. The trade value for an NHL piece would have been very high. Being flanked by Guenther and Sillinger (2 of my favourites pre-draft) just makes it hurt even more lol

Maybe by whichever team finishes 2nd in the Johnny Gaudreau bidding war. Maybe Calgary.
