Description
NYR, DET, SJS and BOS trades, ignore the others...

Caufield in the AHL for another 2 years.

A lot of trades are open to counters - I just think those players are on their way out.

Kent Hugues has mentionned that he wants to bring character and leadership to the room to surround the kids. Got some experienced Dman on the RD to support the new LHD prospect.

New coach - Patrick Roy - get them to play with a bit of pride.

Also, getting an actual checking line with guys with a lot of heart.

It's gonna be a team that plays a cycle game with heavy forecheck.

Boston is not trading Swayman at all. Certainly not for a 3rd line center. Swap Swayman for another 2nd or Beecher maybe.

sharks definitely accept; a lottery protected 1st for Armia and an early 2nd to get rid of the worst contract in the league? fs

Sorry, I was under the impression he was on his way out (don't know why).

I guess that Rask is not coming back next year, so Swayman would stay. Dvorak is more of a 2nd C (he was plagued with injury and Covid this year... so this year is not a good rep of his value).

I believe that BOS needs a 2C behind Bergeron.

There would probably be extra consideration going MTL's way - but basically a top 10 pick for taking Vlasic.

    Dvorak’s best season averaged .55ppg. That’s a 3rd liner.

Haula averaging .79 ppg at C2 since being moved there.

Boston definitely needs a young center. And this is one of the few times a B’s/Habs trade would make sense. But i don’t see you recouping the cost you paid for him.

Wings are not trading two 2nds for Petry. I wish Hab fans would stop. There is no roster spot withSeider, Hronek and Lindstrom. They need a LHD, not another RHD.

Sorry Wings do not need Petry or his cap as they will have players coming up with in the next 2 years and he does not fit the rebuild as he is 34.

Sharks would absolutely do this deal but I feel your right that more would have to go back to Montreal.
if that's the case i think sharks would prefer to do 50% retained and a 1st for nothing or next to nothing.
the problem is i think MEV has said he never wants to leave SJS so its likely he plays one more year next year and either retires or gets bought out.

Lets just say this year isn't a great rep of his value. Lets look at his last 2 years at ARZ.

    126GP / 69Pts

    ^That's good for about 45pts a season

    This year in MTL he's got 34GP / 16Pts

^This is good for about 40pts on the season

I've said it on here before and I stand by it, Dvorak is a younger version of Charlie Coyle and Coyle is a 3C on a contender, 2C on a bad team.

I think Vlasic would hate being under the media spotlight in Montreal because of his non value. As you suggest San Jose is his home now.

buy out in 23 off season seems the most likely plan (buy out this year is so much tougher and we would be better off if we wait one more year (and hope he retires).

MEV declines immediately. He stated adamantly last offseason that he intends to finish his contract in SJ. MTL is his home but he would despise playing there given his distaste for the media as it is. And we're not moving our 1st for him, we need as many ELC contracts as we can get moving forward. Easy, easy no.

I’m cool with keeping him another year and making the buyout cost a less impactful cap hit. Could just scratch him on a regular basis and use him for times like the team is in right now with all the injuries. Just think giving up assets isn’t something the sharks can afford to do long term. They do have some good prospects but there’s no guarantee they all pan out, most likely not. I’d rather have more high end talent in the system than just move part of Vlasics contract or move it and take just as much cap in crap back.

    I fully agree!
if 30% of the Prospect we have in the pipeline actually hit their NHL ceiling we would be a cup contender!
as is it is Logical it expect 20-25% of the top 10 prospects to actually hit their Ceiling, and anther 20% to make the team at some point but never reach their potential.

and your take on Vlasic is fair but at 7 mil a season he is stuck in the lineup regardless of the talent behind him, which is why him being gone sooner than later is Ideal.

Fair enough - you still want him for something else?

No, we have Charlie Coyle already. No need for another 3C

Very appealing but moving that 1st is a total no-no for the Sharks. The value is fine, we just can't do it.

And as mentioned previously Vlasic doesn't waive.
