overpay for eichel so they can retain a bit. also if both sides dislike the offer than it means it is legit lol
Here's the deal:
Strome perfect to play top line center until either Cozens or Mittelstadt emerge as the heir apparent.
Blais not sure how the Sabres could use him, as there are four decent LW on the team now. I suppose they could move Olofsson to RW (or trade him for more 2022 picks),
Robertson probably does not fit into a future Sabre line up, I think they have five LHD ahead of him
Schneider I think after listening to the discussion, while he will never be a Dahlin, he is a solid RHD prospect with top four potential, a hole that he fills in nicely.
Georgiev I could see him as a back up to Luukkonen, but he is also not a great need for the Sabres.
2022 1st round pick (NYR) and 2022 2nd round pick (STL) I like 2022 draft picks, not so much that it allegedly a good draft, but rather that the returns are sooner.
2023 1st round pick (NYR) I like first round picks period.
Three pieces (Blaise, Robertson and Georgiev) that do not fit for the Sabres in the future.
Five good pieces Strome, Schneider, 2022 1st round pick (NYR), 2022 2nd round pick (STL) and 2023 1st round pick (NYR)
Collectively still not what Buffalo wants, but still good.
Here is my opinion, keep Blaise, Robertson and Georgiev, I think in over all value they would equal Kreider.
Throw him into the trade, let Buffalo retain part of his Salary and they move him to a third team along with Strome to another team.
TBH, Kreider and Strome would make the Sabres too good to be assured a top 3 pick.
But you do have this trade at the end of the season before the draft.
Make the change with Kreider and I would do the trade.
