If OTT manages to bring in Thomas via OS or trade, that should be an indication to Brady that OTT management wants to make Brady happy by bringing in his friend (who is also a very talented player that can help them be more competitive) -- so that would give him more incentive to sign with the club. In a scenario where Thomas ends up in OTT, I only see Brady signing.

IMO, Brady, like his brother want to be UFA ASAP. The reported 8m X 8 years offer is fine, but I'm sure Brady is looking for a shorter deal.
New Jersey won't be playoff good for a few years, so I don't see them wanting to trade long term futures for a guy who will be "walking" just as the Devils are getting good.
Personally I think Ottawa is great fit for Brady. But as we have seen, RFA shave been using more leverage to get their contracts tailored to UFA sooner rather than the the traditional 3 years ELC and then an eight year contract.

I don’t think any bridge that walks into UFA is a good move I agree but if he signs a bridge that keeps him a RFA (idk what that would be I haven’t looked at it), then that’s fine.

I think the Svech deal tossed a wrench into his camps plans because you can’t argue Brady > Svech realistically but if Brady goes 7 x 7 I think that’s fair. It’s hard because you either have really fair RFA camps and then others which look for the money which I can’t blame them but some camps are getting a little outrageous, if Brady has been offered 8 x 8 and hasn’t signed then I agree there’s a larger issue

My opinion hasn't really changed much on him. I still think he can turn into Brock Boeser type player.

Generally, I think wings are more expendable than centers.
And for Devils, they have a number of shoot-first guys in their pipeline (Foote, Sharangovich, even Salminen) and can always add 1-2 more.
And I value Mercer, Sharangovich more than Holtz because we don't have many game-on-the-line, up-by-a-goal, lock-it-down two-way types ("GOTLUBAGLID" types?)
