Josi, Slavin, and Petro are WAY too low. All 3 are easily top 10

Hedman in A. McAvoy and Hamilton in S. Letang, Nurse in C. Pesce, Pelech, Heiskanen should at least be in B if not A. Josi, Girard, Toews also in A. Barrie and Doughty aren't top30 Dmen. Might have missed a few but then it's wide open and too long.

Did you just say Hedman is A tier? Yikes man, he's easily the best defense in the league and should be in SS if anything

I'm fine with all of those changes (defensemen are hard to gauge without using the eye test), but I think last season's lead scorer for defensemen should at least get some credit. He's a specialist, but he's a damn good one.

Hedman, Josi, Makar, Slavin, and Fox are my top 5 (no order), with McAvoy, Heiskanen, Theodore, Chabot, and Chychrun not far behind

Carlson is B tier ?? He’s the best offensive defenseman in the league. 119p in 121gp. Closest player to him is Hedman with 100points. His defensive game is average but his offense is elite level. Lol woof.

Slavin and Josi are also being slept on

Put Pietrangelo in that list, and I may agree. Slavin is good but not top 5 in the whole league in my opinion.

I really hope Jake Sanderson is the next Slavin

Mcavoy, chychrun, and probably slavin in the S teir. I think all are better than Theodore. Pesce should be moved up too. I don’t think Hughes should even be on the list.

I thought mcavoy was a horrible pick. No joke, i thought Sweeney should be canned for not taking chychrun, and that it was 2015 all over again. When he was in college, i found him to be an exciting prospect, but never dreamed he would be a top pair guy.

I like being a realist. Throwing a guy in top pair conversation before ever playing a pro game is crazy. Especially when he’s not really dominating in college.

When I saw him play 1 nhl game , I knew he was a top pairing Dman. When he came in in that playoff series vs Ottawa, he looked elite

What I glean from this is that everybody loves Slavin. I do too, but just not as much, I guess. Maybe seeing Weegar provide great offense to go with his elite defense makes me think Slavin can do more. That Lady Byng campaign this year was insane though, he showed some crazy discipline.

Actually, speaking of Weegar, I totally forgot Ekblad. Doughty would probably be the one getting replaced.

One thing I don’t see many people commenting ab it Pelech>Toews. I love love love Toews but I’d take Pelech over him any day of the week

Hedman wasn't elite this season and he wasn't the best defenseman* this season.

Oh, completely agree. He’s pretty much been the bruins best player since the moment he stepped on NHL ice. But when they’re in college, they’re far more likely to be a 3rd pair guy, or nothing. Being a top pair d man is so hard. Not saying Sanderson won’t be, but it’s a tall order.

Tier list is not based on 1 season alone, especially a shortened one. Also Hedman was elite this year, especially in the playoffs. Especially when you consider that his most common linemate was Jan freaking Rutta.

If you want to base it off this one year alone then Artem Zub is a top 10 defenseman in the NHL
