I think there’s an argument for Slavin in the 15-20 range but not any higher than that. Makar, Mcavoy, Hamilton , , Hedman, Fox, Theodore , pietrangelo, josi, weegar , Ellis, Spurgeon , Carlson are all better than Slavin.

What? Hedman and Makar yes, Fox, Pietro, Josi, McAvoy maybe, Carlson, Theodore, Hamilton, Weegar, Ellis, Spurgeon NO CHANCE. Slavin is an elite lockdown defender who takes almost no penalty minutes (1 penalty in 52 games last year) and is a terrific offensive asset, even without posting many points (similar to Adam Pelech/Ryan Pulock, as you mentioned last night). He's for sure Top 10, maybe even Top 5.

Apparently Arizona are preparing themselves to offer Matthews the biggest contract ever when he hits UFA.

I dont think hes gonna hit UFA and if he does not extend before the deadline hes gonna be moved with an extension beforehand to another team who can afford him. That said money specifically bonus money does talk

As Toronto or whoever else gets him will just give him a large signing bonus deal. Thats what wins players over these days as who wants to wait for the money when they can make the majority of it before the season starts.

Can we talk about why Colorado of all teams is bringing in so many terrible hockey players (trading for MacDermid, signing Jack Johnson and Anisimov to PTOs)? I thought they were a smarter organization than this. I would expect this from like, Anaheim or Pittsburgh or something, but not Colorado.

I think after losing Donskoi, Saad and Bellemare, they're worried about depth after the top 6. I agree that they're going about it in the worst way possible, especially trading for MacDermid (makes no sense whatsoever).

Anisimov I like. Good 4c and can replace PEB well. The other 2 mentioned yeah they should have looked elsewhere. I guess they want another veteran Dman and a bruiser Dman to help strengthen their Dcore. And to be fair Vegas ran a clinic on that young Dcore as without Johnsson (E) they seemed to struggle to keep the other teams momentum down leading to many goals.

Gonna wait and see what happens but they most likely gonna win the President Trophy again
