Fr it’s like they all missed the reports that GMs really don’t value him that highly right now. He’s only cracked a point per game twice in 5 years, and while that’s obviously really good, it’s not worth a top line forward, top pair D, a good prospect and two 1sts, which is a pretty tame package compared to some trades on here. He’s also clearly not that great of a leader despite wearing a C, so there’s no added value there. Not to mention any team trading for him will have to let him get this neck surgery that nobody has ever got and then played in the NHL again.

The ELC's aren't going to stay on the team forever. In fact you're already trading at least one of them for Eichel. Don't put too much weight on the salary cap either, the Lightning should've already proven that to everyone this season.

We do not need eichel ranger fans are way to spoiled and think we deserve every star player the lottery gifted us so why not grow our own talent rather then trade for pieces that are way over payments

I mean the two previous years to this one he put Buffalo on his back and was on pace for 90ish points a season with not much to work with. 90 point get's you right around 10 million, not overpaid. Mika's contract is up at the end of next year and assuming he has another year similar to the last two (even this year he would've been over a point per game if not for a slow start) he won't be demanding that much less than Eichel and is considerably older.
