Getting rid of term

Description
Just trying some trades. The Devils trade is a adjustment from what I've seen from devils fans on here. The Kane trade is a version of a trade I saw by someone else don't remember who though. The rest are my own bad trades. Anyway give me your thoughts and suggestions.
This isn't a finished roster it just finished the season and then Sharks have cap space to fix some things.

  1. Tarasenko, Vladimir
Détails additionnels:
Blues need a bit more firepower and Tanks shoulder sounds like it may never be the same.
I understand if Blues aren't interested but keep in mind Burns can play the RW. Money in isn't far from the money out.
Seems worth a shot. For the Sharks they either get a great wing or they get cap space by putting him on LTIR.
When it comes to trade clause's that could be a deal breaker.
5.
SJS
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. Danault, Phillip
  3. Weber, Shea
  4. Choix de 2e ronde en 2021 (MTL)
MTL
  1. Couture, Logan
  2. Vlasic, Marc-Édouard
Détails additionnels:
The thinking is Weber is a upgrade over Vlasic though both are in decline. Couture is better than Danault but Danault is a capable center to help Sharks transition and Sharks could sign him to a reasonable term and salary. Byron is just salary balance nothing more. The 2nd is for the salary of Byron that sharks take on.

yeah meier would get a pretty high return by himself which the sharks need pretty badly, dont really see the sense in tagging martin jones on to tank his value. i would do that canucks trade if the sharks were sending nothing, eriksson has to be one of the most expensive cap dumps in the league and the rest of the package probably covers his cap dumpage, theres nothing actually there for kane imo

Good point on Kane. I guess the Sharks could hold on to Jones, not sure what goalies are free agents this year anyway.

There is not a single reason for the Blues to do that. Tank is a Blue to the bone, they don't need an RD, and your comment about the cap hit is just wrong because Burns is signed until 2025 (which means nearly an extra $20M in spending). Waaaaaay less than zero chance of this even being considered.

Wow, Canucks would rather put up with Ericsson for a year and half rather than take on Kane and his contract, and you want the Canucks to add a first rounder too?

No reason for the Blues to do that trade and also players have NTCs, certainly no reason for Taresko to waive to the San Jose disaster.

Devils don't do that deal either. They would rather keep Zacha and 1st rounder and lots of cap space instead of Meier and the failing Jones.

Way too much long term cap for Montreal to make that trade work. Weber is still performing at a high level. Even if Montreal has to keep Byron 3.4m X 2.5 years, they still have lots of cap room to find a good player instead of acquiring 9m Couture. Plus NTCs may come into play.

Kane should be able to finish his contract out without major regression. He is killer in the playoffs, not that the Canucks are going anywhere near those this year. I don't look at his contract as awful in terms of term but he is overpaid IMO.
If you think this trade was bad you should have been there while I tried to brainstorm a way to get the Leafs to give up Marner for Kane. I couldn't even BS myself enough to put that out there.
Do you have any ideas for me on a fit and price for a guy like Kane?

First Kane has NTC. Now I know he can waive but still it's a factor. Most trades now, you have to trade similar cap and even term to make a trade work. Teams with cap don't want Kane, they can spend 7m better. Kane was always a polarizing player. And now with his financial and probably mental difficulties, I can't imagine any team wanting to take a chance on him. Best bet for Sharks, is he stays on LTIR...because he may not mentally be ready for the NHL. If Kane was known to gamble on the NHL games, that will void his contract.
Fact is, the Sharks bet that the cap would rise and they were suckered into into giving aging or soon to be aging players long term contracts many with NTCs. I really think the Sharks with so many of players long term....they just represent poor value in a flat cap league.

Kane is currently playing and I don't think his debts are gambling related. My understanding is he may have a few too many people taking advantage of his generosity. Vancouver is likely one of the 3 teams he has open as a trade possibility, he is from there. The flat cap stuff I totally agree with you, things look bad for the Sharks. Kane has always struck me as a guy who doesn't get you there but he gets you through.

If the Sharks are going to rebuild, they might as well keep Jones.

Vlasic is pretty much untradeable at this point. Last season he looked like a top-4 player getting paid #1 money; now he doesn't look like an NHLer and teams are even more financially distressed.

Weber is way better and his deal is insanely better the cap hit is 8 but the actual salary is 6,3,1,1,1,1 vs vlasic who’s at 7 mil till the end. No way Montreal does that one, the couture for danault is interesting for both sides but still say no
The rest of these deals your way overvaluing sharks pieces and failing to account for the fact everyone knows were in cap he’ll.

Yeah I was throwing Hail Marys. Sharks are in trouble. This flat cap will kill them. I'm now trying to find a way to fix them without a rebuild. Looking for underachievers who need a change of scenery.

I’m starting to wonder if sharks force vlasic to retire or feign an injury and throw him on LTIR, he just isn’t a viable D man for any price even 1mil a year

If vlasic becomes LTIR and Seattle takes jones we will be ok
For a few years but sadly we’re not in cup contention for 5/6 years, so in my opinion best to start stock pilling picks and just ride out these disasters.

Fair, depending on what you think his ceiling is, but I believe he's already a damn good player, just entering in his prime.

You may not be a possession metrics believer, but if you were, he's off the charts this year (eg relative corsi for), after already logging several years of solid play.

Idk, feels dangerous to give up on him now. Yes, you can try to trade high, but this team needs someone to build around & TM is a nice piece. Tough call.
