Thanks! I don't really want to pay for a website when there are 50 billion free ones so good to know what it says. Seems good to me.

I've been paying for it for like two months, the quality is good but the quantity (for hockey) isn't, especially if you're a fan of a "lesser" team.

I think that Puljujarvi is getting protected so :

McDavid
Draisaitl
RNH (assuming he extends)
Turris
Puljujarvi
Kahun
Yamamoto

Bear
Nurse
Jones (assuming Klefbom is exempt)

That leaves Archibald/Kassian/Benson

Dadonov
White
Brown
Tkachuk
L. Brown
Batherson
Abramov

Chabot
Wolanin
Jaros

Murray

That leaves Tierney, Chlapik, Balcers, Gustavsson, Hogberg

Me neither, thankfully. If you don't follow any other sport and your favorite team is the Panthers, it's not worth it

Yeah I agree for Edmonton. For Ottawa they had the same protection list as you except they protected Brown instead of Jaros. Either way they took D'Accord because he was younger and has some potential

I wonder if Seattle will pull any significant deals to land better players like Vegas did. They routed Florida, Anaheim and Minnesota to get some key guys on their current team.

Puljujarvi is the one I disagree. McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, Yamamoto are the obvious ones. Puljujarvi should be the 5th one. Then, depending on their seasons, Turris/Kahun and Benson.

That would also leave Klefbom open for the Oilers. JP is left open because they do 8 skaters and 1 goalie rather than 7-3-1

Then you would be losing one of Bear, Jones, Klefbom, and Nurse, all of whom are (currently) in higher standing than JP. That could change over the course of the season though

I have a feeling that NSH may trade Ekholm prior to the expansion draft so that they can go 7-3-1. If they do this, I think it could be Ingram (depending on protections, maybe Jarnkrok if he's exposed) -- otherwise, Kunin makes the most sense (depending on how well he does this season).

Yeah they went with 8f-1g for Edmonton instead of the 7f-3d-1g protection

Basically impossible to predict with a million different factors, but I don’t see them picking anybody with a contract longer than 2 years without incentive. My question would be what is Florida offering for them to take bobrovsky?

I can’t see Ottawa protecting Abramov or Jaros.

Chlapik, Balcers, and Abramov just aren’t worth protecting until they are NHL successful. Tierney gets protected.

As for the defence, there aren’t three worth protecting, so by default, it’s Chabot, Zaitsev, Wolanin. Zaitsev haters, get an NHL job before you second guess the guys playing him 23 minutes a night.

they could possibly walk out with 5 1st round picks. Without long term cap damage. Guys with only 2-3 years left.
Guys like Lucic, Neal, Ladd. They can get a 1st from TB to help TB open cap space instead of them picking say Maroon.
They can easily get 5 1st round picks. I don't think anyone wouldn't take that seriously either. I mean look at those 3 names, your telling me people would take them without a 1st attached. No way would they, and they will all be late round 1sts probably.
So yeah, Seattle is gonna take on several cap dumps, and rake in picks. As they should because get while the getting is good and you don't really have anyone to pay anyway.

Along with that I believe they will pick to 6/8 dman, that are on the cusp of the nhl or need of change of scenery that were previously picked high or came in with some hype, over a lot of these vets. Kinda like the Theodore to Reinhardt picks of Vegas

Zaitsev is not worth protecting. Hes overpaid, and flat out bad. Plus theres 0 chance Seattle even takes him. They are one of the most heavily analytically invested teams in the league and Zaitsev is a bottom 3 player in the league by almost every advanced stat

most definitely they will collect defense men, just like vegas did. And then trade them for picks. Possibly same with goalies depending on the market.
Most teams are going 7-3. which means there will be a lot of 2nd pairing guys out there.
