In what way is the current team better. Offense is significantly deeper, defense and goaltending is basically the same

Kerfoot from the Kadri trade. Assume it was never made, Kadri leaves in FA last summer

That's a horrible trade for the Leafs, arguably worse than that Jeannot trade for Tampa

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>QualityTrades1</b></div><div>IMO Duchene's contract doesn't fit with Carolina. Slavin, Jarvis, Necas, and Teravainen all come up before Duchene's 8M comes off the books and it would be a shame if we couldn't resign a couple of these players because of that. Save that money for good deadline rentals or an offseason pickup</div></div>
Fair, but the Hurricanes are also a top 3 team right now, this is with a team cap hit of like 72M. They have an extra 10M, which they should weaponize. Go all in, because its quite possible they won't have an opporunity as good as the one they have here

Seattle absolutely fleeces Toronto in that trade, he is the Leafs best bottom 6 forward. Trading him would be a huge mistake for the Leafs

The best forward core in the league
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Sutter and Keefe's systems are different though, so making all these changes probably won't work out. Better off overpaying on a defender, than ruining the chemistry of the bottom 6, especially with how good Kampf's line has been.</div></div>
Youre telling me the reward of running Engvall-O'Reilly-Toffoli is not worth it because you have Engvall-Kampf-Jarnkrok?
Kampf alone is pretty useless. When he's on the ice without Engvall, his on ice results fall off entirely. This has been the case for 2 years in a row now. Which leads me to believe that he alone isn't doing much other than being carried by Engvall
They already added Acciari which changes their 4th line. Another additon won't destroy chemistry.

I don't think he is worth a 1st round pick. However, I do think there is a GM out there who will pay a 1st for him because they see him as an elite shutdown guy

Joey Anderson can be swapped out with Pontus Holmberg or Bobby McMann. Only reason I had Anderson there was because he requires waivers to get sent doen. Its irrelevant in the playoffs ig.

The best forward core in the league
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Kerfoot, Kampf, and ZAR all can contribute to a strong bottom 6.
Essentially all you did was trade Knies for a 1st and get two good players in Ruzicka and Toffoli just to play them in a lesser role. While Toffoli probably does thrive playing with ROR, Ruzicka probably disappears on the 4th line.
The Leafs defence is good but they should be looking to get better, especially being in the Atlantic/East if they hope to make a deep run.</div></div>
Ruzicka's most common linemate this year is Trevor Lewis, he's been good as a 4th liner
The defense could always get better, but any trade for a defenseman will probably be a gross overpay

The Missing Pieces
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ronaldhainsey</b></div><div>I disagree with the statement. Just because Andersson was placed on waivers and was not claimed, it does not necessarily mean that he has no value to other teams. Teams often have specific needs and priorities, and a player that goes unclaimed on waivers one time may be in high demand at another point in the season or in the future. For example, the Calgary Flames claimed Oliver Kylington off waivers in January 2021 after he went unclaimed earlier in the season, and he has since become a regular contributor to the team. Therefore, it is possible that the Kings could still receive a valuable return in a trade for Andersson.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>You have to be injured to go on LTIR. Quick is not.</div></div>
You don't necessarily have to be injured to go on LTIR. Sometimes players with long-term injuries can be placed on the LTIR to free up salary cap space for their team. So just because Quick isn't visibly injured doesn't mean he couldn't be on LTIR.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Harvey Pinard is a decent player, but he's just not on the same level as Andersson. Andersson is just an awesome player, and it would be a real shame to see him go. I don't think trading him for Harvey Pinard is a good move for the Kings.
