<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>I am going with none of the above.
If I am Drury, I am looking for a depth D..... Harpur as a #7 works, but if the Rangers are going on a run, I would suggest funding a #7-8 is more in the cards. The forward depth is simply there.
Adding a Holden, circle back to Braun, kick a tire on Jack Johnson. That would be my next move.
The offense in New York is what teams are responding to. Leafs answered that call. The Canes are looking to answer that call.
Adding to the D at this point makes more sense.</div></div>
I get that and wouldnt mind a 7th D add but there is an obvious hole in the forward lineup. Leschyshyn Is not an NHL player

Make the conditions a little easier - ups to like, a 4th if he plays in half of the games, ups to a 3rd if he plays those games and produces X number of points, whatever.</div></div>
Yea thats fair and makes sense and at his cap hit i imagine the rangers want to hold him until the playoffs so no guarantee he’ll be able to just go after not playing for that long

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ab27</b></div><div>I do not think Kane is worth it. I worry about a few things with acquiring him: the actual cost (1st rd pick + other smaller pieces), his health, and the lack of grit/style of play needed for the playoffs. Jeannot is definitely the guy I would want. I could see either one of the Arizona players or Lafferty (I think someone may over pay for him). I agree with Domi and Barbashev as I think someone will overpay for them as well.</div></div>
I agree on Lafferty and as much as I would love to add Jeannot Im not sure Nashville is willing to trade him for all the reasons the rangers want him, hes a young, gritty, scoring forward under control.
As for Kane yea I definitely went with the best case scenario in terms of an offer and I do agree about his health but Im not worried about playoff performance if hes healthy, he won 3 stanley cups. But overall i agree i dont think it will happen

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tarlam01</b></div><div>You’ll have yo pay a price close to ROR for Kane. Kravtsov has virtually almost 0 value and there’s 0 1sts included. The only piece NYR needs is a Jeannot type of guy, otherwise it’s not worth it.</div></div>
I dont think Nashville is willing to part with Jeannot and the Kane deal assumes he tells Chicago he will only go to NY. And i do think Kravtsov has value, I think any retooling team would be willing to at least take a chance on a former top 10 pick 23 years old with good analytics if the price isnt too high

Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks33</b></div><div>Canucks have their own Swedish star. Just saying.
On Horvat, it's impossible that anyone besides him and management know his intentions at this point. If he's open to re-signing then management has to get it done before the deadline. If he'd prefer to test UFA then management has to move him. Making a call one way or another is pure speculation at this point.
If Horvat is gone then our cap situation is decent moving forward. Ideally it would make sense to trade Miller as well and use pieces from both trades to build around Pettersson and Hughes' timeline. I'm not sure if that would happen given that Miller just signed an extension, but he doesn't have any trade protection until his extension actually kicks in.</div></div>
oops yeah my bad forgot about Pettersson lol. Makes sense for Horvat curious to see how that unfolds

I think Drury takes that easily hope Kravstov will break out and maybe having a Swede star in Zibanejad will help Hoglander, hope the best for both players
Although I have a separate question, No Horvat trade? If not do you resign him? If so what do you do about Miller/the cap? Just curious here

Terry is our top line guy and Strome is going to be 2RW when McTavish takes his place at 2C, and that's not even including who we draft this year.
Seems pointless for us to trade a known middle 6 winger on a side we need for a question mark on a side we don't.</div></div>

Sure but a pick could probably even it out and Hoglander clearly needs a new coach that will play him. Also Vancouver has tried for before Kravstov according to previous trade rumors
