You left out Jake Gardiner. He would cost the least to acquire and bring better production than some you have listed here.

To me Mcnabb is the safest most cost efficient option between the cost to get him and his cap hit. Yet, I think VGK would rather move Martinez or some of their higher salary players as they try to get under the cap. But he would make sense and the B's would be i think be able to stay under the cap without moving money out depending on the JDB contract. Personally, Hanifin would be my favorite, he would probably cost Debrusk +. Skjei, Ghost, and murphy dont do a ton for me, and Yands and Leddy's cap hit complicates things. Nurse is a good target but with Klefbom's injury it doesnt seem likely EDM will move him. After all this though, im on board with rolling with the young guys, and finding a rental further down the line if need be.

Debrusk plus for Nurse and only if Klefbom plays and can stay healthy. Other wise not sure Oilers would consider trading Nurse today unless the return was Plus Plus his value on the trade market any other day. I can see Nurse getting traded for minus his value next season once he asked for 8 mil plus a season on his next contract negotiation.

Not a Bruins fan, but I will give my take

    Weegar
    1. Tough to say, I think DeBrusk could be an option 1 for 1
    2. $3.5-$4.5 million x 3-4 years
    3. 1LD next to McAvoy

    OR

    Hanifin
    1. Another young player (DeBrusk, Kase, Vak or Bjork) and maybe a draft pick?
    2. $4.950 million x 4 years
    3. 1LD next to McAvoy or 2LD next to Carlo

Depends on what you want. More defensive dman you could trade for Weegar, if looking for a PP quarterback then Yandle is a good option just expensive

If they better it is by a very slim margin, and either would cost a hell of a lot more to acquire. But whatever...

I think this is Gostisbehere by a fair bit - kind of redundant in Philly, fills the only real need, which is power play, probably doesn't come at a high price. If you could send a pick, and maybe even potentially Moore back Philly's way I think that's the best deal you can make. Sergachev would be interesting, but it'd probably be paired with taking on some other salary, and I'm not sure they'd trade him to Boston anyways.

Yandle is the other intriguing option to me, while Leddy and McNabb could be alright if they come cheap - but especially McNabb doesn't really fill the need. They really value Weegar in Florida, and there's no need going after a long term option with the expansion draft coming up. Skjei, Murphy, Hanifin and Nurse will cost too much without being that good, and again be lost to Seattle if they do work out well.

I think the priorities are: 1) power play compatible, 2) cheap in terms of what you have to give up considering Seattle, and 3) not a long expensive contract.

Honestly, I don't want to move Nurse.
I understand there are idiots in every fanbase, ours is no different.

For YEARS we've dreamt of legit defensemen who are drafted and developed by the Oilers, hitting their stride with the Oilers, playing their prime with the Oilers.

For YEARS we've mismanaged assets and traded them away just before they actually make their mark, or rushed them too quick and destroyed their confidence.

When I first followed hockey, admittedly, I joined the witch hunt.

"Trade Petry, he sucks, he wants more money, he's never gonna be worth it." Then he turned out to actually be a pretty good option on the top 4 while the Oilers would struggle to find a serviceable d-man to replace him with. Overpaid has-beens, overhyped euro's, NHL salary making AHL fodder.. straight trash.

Then came Schultz, rushed in, way in over his head, asked to carry the world on his shoulders and when he couldn't out came the torches and pitchforks. "Trade Schultz, he's trash, he's a fraud, rather have a bag of pucks." This time though, I saw that it was the same morons preaching the same BS all over again. Now look, a sheltered season and a half later, he's a 50pt dman with 2 cups. Was he the sole reason for those chips? No, but he certainly was a big help.

Now we have Nurse. Still young and raw by NHL standards at 24, forced to play tougher minutes due to lack of options. He's improving, but apparently if he can't bring us a cup before he turns 25 we should get rid of him. Oh he asked for 8M in a pre-covid, pre-flat cap world? That's how negotiations work, you clowns.

To be honest, if we do end up trading him away, he's going to develop into what he's supposed to be and we'll be left scratching our heads as to why we ran him outta town to begin with. Cue finger pointing, "fire the GM" billboards or whatever..

Onto the next witch hunt though eh? Broberg and Bouchard are running out of time, only 4 years til the "cup or bust" deadline by some of my clown-ass Oiler "fan" brethren.

    Rant over.

Not talking about anyone on this here site specifically, really. Unless the shoe fits though, right?

This site is WAY more analytical than the crap I read and scroll past on Facebook primarily. Atleast the average user here has some info, data, stats, facts as to why they think a certain way versus unfiltered opinions that just dribble down the chin.

The shoe does not fit, I have big feet not that big and no two left feet. But I agree, Instagram is the worst.
