A late first and couple middling late picks for a heavily retained very strong two-way middle 6 player having a career year on pace for over 50 points playing for one of the worse teams in the league while also receiving a solid depth centre who only boosts the oilers centre depth. Win oilers.

Not sure on the estimates of prospect values and player values (it's why I always prefer to use picks)</div></div>
I failed to mention he considers Holloway and Broberg both untouchable when it comes to only getting a rental as a return. I’ve heard Lavio might be on the table, he’s having the best year to date in the A.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>STLBlues17</b></div><div>The Blues can just keep him another year then</div></div>
They could and then risk losing him for even less next year too. Ken Holland is high on Broberg whether you agree with his assessment or not he’s bullish in trading him for short term help. I think it’s realistic to believe warren foegle will be going back in any trade bringing in a top forward just for cap purposes. If PB had 2 more years after this I would jump all over it. But two firsts plus Broberg and foegle is a lot. I would think the oilers should pay that sort of premium for another top 4 /top pairing dman like they did last year for Ekholm. The oilers really don’t need another top 6 forward as much as they could use the upgrade on D.

I think that would work if oilers swing and miss on JG, PB or VT first. Although Ken Holland has stated multiple times he won’t trade a first for a rental.

I don’t think there’s much there from the oilers. The only LHD they are possibly interested in moving is Kulak for cap reasons. If he doesn’t get moved this TDL it will be in the offseason to make room for Broberg. He’s definitely more defensive then offensive but he’s fast and consistent. The only skater the oilers are probably willing to move again for cap reasons is foegel. Especially the oilers looking to add to there to 6/upgrade from foegel. If New Jersey is looking for strictly a hockey trade I’m not sure there’s a deal there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mcgruff16</b></div><div>In fairness, I haven't seen Pickard play since he was a Wing and he was awful and also I just saw Reimer play his a$$ off last week vs. a very fired up Chicago team so I'm def biased. That said, maybe a 5th? Edmonton is a cup contender and going into the playoffs without at least a veteran backup is scary.</div></div>
It’s tonight to say, oilers only have so much cap space, if they bring in Riemer there’s a chance they’ll miss out on other options that help the team a little more. The oilers could use an upgrade on either skinner or pickard but I just don’t think riemers it

Meh, Riemer has had a much better career but hardly improves the oilers goaltending today, not enough to pay a mid pick for him

Caps Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>Tampa has Howard, Gauthier, Thompson, Duke, Huuhtanen, as well as other prospects that could be involved if needed. They would also likely move the '26 1st, '25 2nd, young roster players such as Perbix/Lilleberg/Crozier. Hanifin has also identified Tampa as a preferred destination(along with 2 or 3 other teams). Tampa could put a good offer together, especially if they were confident that Hanifin was re-signing. Regardless, Edmundson has not been linked to Tampa, and there are several other dmen, at least, that Tampa should be looking at before settling for a 6/7 like Edmundson.</div></div>
I could care less if Tampa is on Edmundson or not but just because it hasn’t been reported that they are doesn’t mean they’re not looking at all options.
NH has an 8 team no trade list. He could tell Calgary he only wants to be traded to Tampa and that still wouldn’t work in Tampa’s favour.
Every player you’ve mentioned absolutely does not move the needle in Tampa’s favour. Several teams out bid Tampa easily. Calgary has said they wanted a CG like return. Not a single prospect mentioned is anywhere near Tippet. You could argue at the time each player was drafted they had similar potential but none has shown Tippet potential at time of trade. The roster players you mentioned aren’t good lol perbix is a ufa in after next season, him included in a trade for NH only waters down more valuable assets in a trade.

Edmonton says no. Not sure how Mantha replaces Kane “lack” of production when their numbers are nearly identical this season. Maybe Manthas exposure playing it’s McD or Drai boosts his numbers but by how much to justify paying as much as you have indicated here? Same with Charlie, his numbers are hardly better then skinners or pickards numbers and I mean hardly decimal places better, the price to pay for either player for very slight upgrades isn’t worth it.. there are better players available that fill other the same or other holes that would theoretically boost Kanes or either of the oilers current goalies numbers. Also, if Brobergs value is as low as you say then why would they trade him right now if the return he could fetch is so low? Although apparently his okay before his injury in the nhl as increased his value. Regardless, I’m very certain Kulak is going to be traded either this deadline for an upgrade/cap casualty or in the offseason for the same reason. The idea is Broberg takes his place in the 3rd pair as his cap hit is minimal and he is now NHL ready, especially as a 3rd pairing dman.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>There's nothing specific on the Hanifin ask, and Tampa does have the pieces to make a.solid offer. Even more so if Hanifin only wants to extend with a select few teams, thereby likely reducing what other teams may be willing to offer for just a rental. In any case, there are quite a few better options that Tampa should be paying a 3rd or.more for rather than Edmundson.</div></div>
Like what? Specifically what would Tampa have to offer if there were say 5 teams making offers on him?
