I would assume the Candiens would do it, but I'm not sure the Jacket's would. If they were to trade him, they'd ask for that package plus the 16th overall pick in this year's loaded draft. Suzuki, Caufield, Domi and that first make them a good team now and a better one in the future. The Canadiens could probably handle that asset departure, as Dubois would basically replace Suzuki. All they would really need is a replacement for Caufield (though Domi and that first are big, tradable assests).

Dubois is the franchise. Dubois, werenski, and Jones would be there unaquireable assets. Probably korpisalo now also after that playoffs

Dont think MTL does this. Suzuki looks like a 60 point center, Domi is already a 50 point player and Caufield is a top 5 prospect not in hockey right now.

That's to much for a center who I dont think will be a ppg player.

Before Suzuki exploded and prior to Caufield being selected maybe (Domi+Suzuki+15OA) but now that everyone compares Zook to O'Reilly why would I trade him?
Caufield just got NCAA freshman of the year award, why would I trade him?
Montreal owns Domi's rights so why would I trade him even if he'd wants out (Nothing confirmed, most likely just frills)?
Dubois' good and I hope we would've drafted him but even if he isn't as big and physical I'll keep Suzuki over him for couple reasons. Zook has two years left on ELc whereas PLD's taking his payday this summer, KK has been drafted to become our physical center (Only an inch short and 20lbs lighter than PLD but also two more years to gain mass) and from what he's showed in the playoffs is that he could become a good physical presence on the ice. Right now Montreal has too many top six centers so all those trade for better centers makes no sense, it's either a top two LD or a top line RW that Montreal would go get if anything happens otherwise they'll stay put and roll with 4 competitive lines in 2020-21.

Agree to disagree. Personally, If I were the Canadiens I wouldn't make this trade. Suzuki feels like a legit first-line center and playoff performer. He's not a French-Canadian, but he's what they've needed all along. While one can never be certain when it comes to prospects, Caufield looks like a really good one (if not a great one): A right-wing goal scorer of his ilk just do not grow on trees (I am sure Colombus would agree on that), and you never know what type of player will fall to 16th in a loaded draft. Domi is an asset that can be traded for something else that the Canadien's would need.

In summary, I do not think Dubois would be worth that much. Very good player, but I do not think he's worth all of those assets. That is just my opinion: Don't hate because of it. I am well aware that you disagree with that (the sarcastic "pffft" followed by the all-to-mature laughing face made that painfully obvious). Because of this, there's probably no use debating. I am excited to see how Dubois and the Jackets do next season, just as I am excited to see how the Canadiens do with Suzuki and the rest of that team.

I'd prefer Suzuki to Kotkaniemi but I'd honestly do that deal. I might be the only CBJ fan that says that, though.
