COL-fair value, can’t actually see it happening

CGY- EXTREMELY bad for Anaheim
BUF-I could see this swap happening, personally, I think it’s fair
MTL- Fair, but MTL has enough RHD so I can’t see it happening

In all fairness last season leaf fans flooded this site with Nylander for pesce trades. This is no different. I do agree that leafs paid more than other teams like buffalo.....well basically every team haha

Neither is Manson.

Some of the deals are super wonky. Perhaps there was a time (maybe last season) when a (sell) high Manson and (sell) low Nylander maybe would have been a reasonable prediction. However, so far this season, putting aside my dislike for Nylander's defensive game, he's outperformed expectations and his salary as well. If the Leafs and Anaheim were to try and work something out, it would probably take Manson, a prospect, and a 1st to get the Leafs' attention. For all those still high on Manson, he's a very good defensive defenseman who has had his struggles, especially this season. While some people, perhaps mostly Duck fans, consider him a top pairing D, he is not that at all.

Going back to your AGM here for a sec. Looking at this list, your Avs and Habs deals might be the most fair or reasonable deals of all your proposed trades.

Some Leaf fans, the smart ones said they were all insane and needed to calm down. Now we are looking quite smart.

Neither is the Ducks franchise.

I don't think that we should be considering Josh Manson trades unless we were getting back some young defenseman with upside potential like Marino, Mayfield or Weegar, or maybe an A defense prospect like Josh Brook or Calen Addison or Bode Wilde.

Two things are clear to me, 1) Last year was just a nightmare for a young kid who got paid and missed out on a 3rd of the season 2) Babs was part of the problem with Nylander. His motivation style of berratment and pushing buttons doesn't work anymore and especially with guys like Nylander. I think a combination of Playing with Tavares and Keefe's let's talk it out approach are helping in a big way. He's an elite player, I said it many times, the difference in skill between Nylander and Marner is negligible but Marner's engine never stops while Nylander can disappear at times. He fixes that and TO has 4 top end forwards that are tough to stop.

I don't think any are fair value or make sense for ANA.

We traded Montour for Guhle + 1st. I'd want a similar deal for Manson, but a better prospect because Manson is better than Montour.

He's just salty because we won't give him Manson for a pile of crap. I have literally given examples of where we traded a worse D-man in Montour for similar packages that we are proposing (Guhle + 1st vs Liljegren + 1st) and he still can't justify his crappy valuation of Manson.

You are taking what I am saying wrong. I don't think Manson is crap, he's a good player. I don't think TO will trade for him because the price is way too much for what he brings to the table. As I have mentioned Muzzin got less of a return than what you guys are asking and he is a better player. Had a longer track record of being a top pair guy (he was paired with Doughty alot), always had very good underlying numbers and averaged close to a point ever 2 games in his career. Manson may have had big value 2 years ago but he fell off last year and again this year has been just ok. You'll get a good return if you move him, I am not at all disagreeing with that, however you are not getting, Nylander or Sandin or Liljegren from TO. Probably not Kapanen either. If someone else wants to pay a ridiculous price for them cool. I doubt Dubas is going to sell the farm for 2 years of a stay at home defenceman who had a great season 2 years ago.

Well eight teams are going to have first round exit and 15 teams won't even make the playoffs. The point is how Manson in exchange for Nylander makes the Leafs better. It doesn't help the Leaf this year or in future years.
