your rental trade isnt even close. evans isnt a highly touted prospect. he is most likely a 4th liner in the nhl. lindgren isnt anything special but if you add a 1st and then some to this thats the deal. IF Hall gets traded the minimum return is a 1st and a good prospect.

Evans is a potential Middle 6 forward.
Lindgren is a decent goal tending prospect.

Instead of one high end and a first you get two B grade prospects and a 2nd.

The first one would ruin MTL for the next ten years... Seriously horrible Hall isn't McDavid. Suzuki have 70pts potential, Drouin is finally becoming the player he can be and brook is our best defense prospect plus a first for mtl draft this is horrible

Habs shouldn't do the 1st trade: extending Hall to over 10 mill cap hit will block them from fully extending all their guys like Gallagher, Domi, Danault, KK, etc. and (here's hoping) a possible top 4 LHD down the line

NJ easily decline the 2nd trade: a bottom 6 potential, an AHL goalie and a pick that has less than 50% of becoming a legitimate NHLer is far away from Hall's value, they'd also get alot more for a rental from contending teams

... Not really, that's like saying Sean Kuraly has top line potential and Malcolm Subban is the next elite goaltender, both those guys being far ahead of their position counterparts in your proposal at the same age

First trade is a horrendously giant overpay by the habs, second is a horrendous underpay.

Charlie Lindgren is a waiver wire pickup, not a prospect. If you are not playing in the NHL when you are in your prime already, chances are you just aren't that good.
Jake Evans is an ok prospect but not good enough to be added to any deal as the "main piece going back". I know most other fan bases think he's literally a nobody which isn't fair because he's decent but he certainly isn't anything special either.

Try something that looks like the Duchene to Columbus trade last year... that’ll get you into the right ball park for a Hall trade. That’ll include 2 1st round picks if Hall resigns in MTL.

Ive never heard of evans so i looked him up. from 3 different sources on google. it said very unknown. small chance he could be a 2nd line player more likely he is a 4th liner. For Hall, i think 2 mid tier prospects and a 2nd doesnt come close.

Haven't we seen how difficult it is get a teams premier RFAs signed, so it's kinda silly talk that Jersey gives Hall the right to talk to Montreal and Has and Hall can agree to an extension.
Plus you couldn't even mention what the extension was . It was even too complicated for the author to come with the $$$ and term.
