Why does WSH do this? Kuznetsov is a top-tier 1C and Laine isn’t. C depth is much more important than wing depth, especially on a team that has Ovi. Doesn’t make sense.

P.S. if Laine is available it’s because he’s too expensive or management has soured on him. Don’t see him going in a 1-for-1 in that case. Definitely a package deal.

That Danault trade would be interesting, regardless of the other trades, considering he has solid point production for a 2/3 C and finished 7th in Selke last year. Not what you have here but if there was an Orlov-Eller package that could be made for Danault and some other pieces, that could be very interesting. Tough to give up the cost controlled assets, though.

I think the value of both trades are great.....but habs get a #1 lhd for a #2-3 defensive center....they have 2 guys and need lhd help imo it could work..... caps can't dump eller unless you send a center back. losing 2 centers would be costly for us.....unless we dont trade kuzy
