Description

If Chicago falls off the pace in 2023 (with Kane and Toews being a year older and more susceptible to injury, plus Fleury possibly gone) the 2023 1st round pick from Chicago could be quite good for Montreal. Strome can step in as a 3C for now to see how he does.
Some people have said that Poehling is not overly impressive at camp so far, but with a new team maybe he does better.

I don't see anywhere where we are "improving at center", no trade is even proposed, no waiver claim, no FA signing and no prospect being called up. What is the plan? Also IF Chicago struggles with Toews and Kane being a year older they go into rebuild mode and are not giving up a 1st round pick and especially not for Poehling if that was the idea.

i think the way the hawks are building, they might want poehling, a 2nd or 3rd and a player with an expiring contract that they can decide on if they want to extend if we need to give up to make room, lehkonen maybe
