1. That isn't even close to getting Pinto.
2. The Sabres arguably need RD even more than the Sens.

Holtz to Montreal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Tony Marinaro on his podcast
“A name that has come up recently is Alexander Holtz. One team that wants him badly, and I mean badly, because I’m sure there’s a couple of teams that would take him. The Montreal Canadiens want Alexander Holtz badly. Believe me when I tell you that. They’re not trading Nick Suzuki and they’re not trading Cole Caufield. I don’t know how much they’d be willing to give up, but they have some assets that are in play. I’m talking about defenceman Kaiden Ghule, I’m talking about defenceman David Reinbacher, I am talking forward Kirby Dach. They want Alexander Holtz and they want him badly. It won’t be a ‘one-vs-one’ deal. They will spice it up by throwing in other players or top picks, but I can tell you right now, based on what I’m hearing, that Kent Hughes wants Holtz BADLY.”</div></div>
Marinaro is an idiot, whether he said that or not. Hughes is not so stupid. If we're giving that up, Jack Hughes had better be the return. I wouldn't give up the 26 for Holtz at his point. He's proven nothing yet at the NHL level. It's a bit too early to say for sure, but Holtz could bust. He does still have potential, and on this site he's being thrown in to every Devils trade like he's nothing, and he's not, as the Devils still value him enough to have kept him around, but he was never worth this. He never had the potential to be worth this.
So...this has got to be satire.

Buffalo gets tougher we take on skinners contract
Buffalo is giving up the 3 best assets in this deal, and possibly the 4th as well. JT is a prick and he's washed up and he can't lead worth ****. Reaves can't play hockey anymore and the picks are basically worthless. The Sabres are not a charity. Even they have won more playoff rounds in the last 20 years than you have.
If Buffalo wants a goon, they can easily pick one up somewhere else, and they might even get one who can play a little. Reaves is a massive liability whenever he's on the ice with his gloves on.

Van - Mtl A tradition continues
Lose-lose deal for both sides. Van isn't taking on all that cap this year; they have their own guys to sign, and may make one big splash (Guentzel?), but won't waste their space on this.
Mtl loses this deal because every one of those contracts expire next year, and Mikheyev doesn't. Mikheyev's fast, but he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

We're not trading Guhle, and we don't need Casey.
And I think the Jets want more than a bunch of flotsam and jetsam for Ehlers.
And now that the Devils have a goalie, I think they'll make that pick at 10, and I'm about 80% sure it will be Eiserman. 20% shot it's Catton.

Caufield's made the playoffs once, and has two more career series wins than Matthews.
34 will score, but he'll eat up a ton of cap space and disappear when the going gets tough.
You aren't getting Slaf or Arby either. Pass.

If the deal doesn't involve Pinto or Chychrun, the B's shop elsewhere. Well, unless the Sens are actually dumb enough to give up the 7.

I'll do it on the condition that CBJ retains at least 25% and Beck is not in the deal. We have plans for him.

Maybe Pinto, Chychrun, and the 25 for Ullmark, Carlo, and Beecher?
If Ottawa's moving the 7, Boston has to add to the deal. But I think the B's want NHL ready talent. They'll ask for Pinto first, and Chychrun second, and if they can't get either, they'll shop elsewhere. With Batherson, the value's there, and he'd more than replace the inconsistent DeBrusk, but wing is not their area of need.

worth a ask
If this offer is enough for Laine and the 4, the Habs will offer Dvorak, the 26, Sean Farrell, one of Harris/Barron/Engstrom, and the Pens' 2025 2nd. That's still an insulting offer, but it's better than yours.
Sure, Laine is overpaid. So is Hayes, who's having half retained by Philly and still isn't worth close to what the Blues are paying him. What drugs are you on?

Utah finds a goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenguinMullet68</b></div><div>Yeah that’s not getting Boston’s 3rd stringer never mind Ullmark</div></div>
I'm not sure why you're so high on Bussi, other than his name being fun to say. He's not even the most suggestive goalie name in their system, as Reid Dyck is also a Bruins prospect.
Sure, the deal's not enough for Ullmark, and it creates a logjam in the Utah net, but it's more than any goalie not on the active roster is worth.
Utah has Ingram and Vejmelka. They don't really need a goalie, and if they trade Vejmelka, they don't need a starter, they need a tandem goalie. A 1B. Someone capable of 35 starts. Ullmark will want 55-60 starts wherever he goes. Also, Ullmark wants to stay in the east. He'll nix this one.

Markstrom Draft Take 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD25</b></div><div>I agree with you to some extent. If I were KH, I would not do if Demidov or Parekh is still available and they truly believe that they can be game changers. Lindstrom, I don't know; I was super keen to draft him before it came out that his back injury was in fact a herniated disc... If this is indeed true, it seems like a huge risk.
If I had the choice between drafting a LHD at 5 OA, or two forwards at 9 and 10 OA, then I'd take the latter.</div></div>
Even at RD we already have Reinbacher and Mailloux. No need for Parekh.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarr</b></div><div>Habs say no imo.. retaining cap isnt the issue but going from 5th and 26th to 9th and 10th is a huge risk. drafting someone like Demidov, Lindstrom, Parakeh is an option at 5 but not at 9&10. Sure Iginla and Eiserman is great, but id rather the habs package some of their many prospects with the 26th to move into the top 12 instead.</div></div>
If the Flames are trading up to 5 it's for Iginla. We would have to hope Catton is available. I guess Eiserman would be the other pick. Who else is even an option? Helenius, maybe. or a dman - one of Parekh, Dickinson, or Buium.
This is not even something I consider until I know who CBJ is taking.

Nurse trade
Nurse is under contract for four years longer at a higher cap hit. CBJ laughs in your face.
Also, Laine, with McDavid? If a plug like Zach Hyman can get 50+ goals with him, what would Laine do? I can't see the possible upside for Columbus here.
Maybe you can get Dubois for Nurse.
