Armia is a 3.4M 4th liner. Maybe a 3rd liner. At best he has no value. I’d be open to acquiring him or Dvorak with retention but not at full salary

Savard is a bad bottom pair dman making 3.5M. He’s absolutely a cap dump. I’d rather sign just about any UFA RHD over trading for him

Habs fans don't think that way about Savard as he will get a 2nd at the trade deadline and this is so next year the Canucks can go after Rantinen or Ehlers next year

Savard has been terrible the last 3+ seasons. And making this deal severely hurts our chances of competing next season since we will have significantly less cap space to add a top 6 winger and fill out the defense and bottom 6

Dvorak has 1 year left. No need to dump him just to take on another bad contact and be in the same exact position again next offseason. We’re fine with keeping Dvorak on the books for one final season

Lose-lose deal for both sides. Van isn't taking on all that cap this year; they have their own guys to sign, and may make one big splash (Guentzel?), but won't waste their space on this.

Mtl loses this deal because every one of those contracts expire next year, and Mikheyev doesn't. Mikheyev's fast, but he can't hit the broad side of a barn.
