Buffalo would buy Skinner out while laughing and hanging up the phone.

Buffalo is giving up the 3 best assets in this deal, and possibly the 4th as well. JT is a prick and he's washed up and he can't lead worth ****. Reaves can't play hockey anymore and the picks are basically worthless. The Sabres are not a charity. Even they have won more playoff rounds in the last 20 years than you have.

If Buffalo wants a goon, they can easily pick one up somewhere else, and they might even get one who can play a little. Reaves is a massive liability whenever he's on the ice with his gloves on.

Skinners contract is pretttyyy bad, and he still has a few years left. If Buffalo doesn't want to buy him out and lose a bunch of cap space for a few years then they could probably throw one or two of those pieces to a team like the Sharks, but Toronto can't afford to take on a contract that bad. Tavares is still a better player than skinner and only has 1 year left at a terrible cap hit. Makes more sense to keep him and then have that extra cap space for free agency next year.
