CBJ would need more going to them. IM is a depth piece we don't need, VP is a rehab project we don't want.

VAN is the one gaining $3M in cap space in order to go against the ceiling.

Jackets definitely decline. Well trade you Boqvist for a pick, but everything else in this trade isnt of any interest.

Not sure why the Sabres would trade a young top six winger with 5 years of control for an older bottom six winger with one year of control.

I think you did pretty well for your 1st. The thing that anyone on here rarely does is ask does the other team want these pieces. If the asnwer is no, then you either have to send pieces they would want or add compensation to convince to take those pieces anyway.

Like your Jackets trade, the Jackets are definitely interested in trading away Boqvist, but the players you are sending have essentially no value to us, so you either need to send other pieces or add to what you are sending. I think your trade to the jackets just needs simplified to trading for Boqvist for a 3rd or something like that.

Welcome to Cap friendly, as I'm sure you've heard, it's not always friendly. Quinn is a former 8th overall pick, the Sabres may have reached on him (most mocks I saw had him in the late teens or later), and what was really bizarre to me, was the Sabres passed on rossi, perfetti, and lundell to take Quinn, a winger. I took it as a subtle reassurance that eichel was staying with the team, I mean if you are gonna lose your franchise center, draft a center with your top 10 pick. But, Quinn has been a pleasant surprise, he is a dedicated two way winger, who puts up pretty decent offensive numbers, which is more than advertised when he was drafted (most reports had him as offense only). Since then, the only concern is injuries. The Sabres are loaded with forwards, I think Quinn is a core player, but if there's a trade that makes the team better both now and in the future, I think you've gotta listen. This is a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 13 years, there's only so many players that can be untouchable. Having said all of that, you would have to give up something awfully nice to have a Quinn trade even considered, plus suter doesn't start a conversation.

No problem. Welcome to CapFriendly!

It’s the internet, so fair share of assholes around here. But hope you enjoy playing GM and learning about the wide-world of salary cap and player finances.
