Nashville doesn't get a lot when you just look at the player involved. HOWEVER, they get a LOT of cap space, which they can weaponize this summer.

Additionally, Tampa already didn't have a lot of cap space and taking on an older, overpaid player when they are clearly no longer in their Stanley Cup window.

In a vacuum, this is a fair trade. However, taking into account cap space et al, then Nashville easily wins.

Savard wasn't a bad move this and Jeannot are his only real head scraper trades. Miller was a good trade Rutta for Koekkoek was a good trade the ones you said were good I agree. Paul was a good trade he's batting about .800 I'll take that.

I see Tampa is in the "Bring the band back together" part of their window. Odd move for a cap smart team to take on a 35 year old at nearly 7 million dollars

1. Yes, still clocks in more than 20 minutes a night, he's a great leader, and while the stats might not show it, he is still an amazing player. Blocks shots, makes smart defensive moves, not much of an offensive contributer anymore(still gets 25-30 pts though) and gives 100%.
2. Their D kinda sucks until this addition. Gives them back the top 4 you can win a cup with. Perbix and Raddysh aint cutting it.

That's nice to hear he stuck with it. All the more reason to like a player like him.
