Not hating the idea of the trades but all teams probably say no. Apparently PLD was offered for Ullmark and not much else. Ullmark said no. So with Tavares still capable of 65+ points, no way LA just gives up on PLD when PLD was signed also with the intention of replacing Kopitar as top 2cs in near future. For Marner, fair if Marner resigns, but no way Minnesota gives up on their 2 very good up and coming top 6 maybe even top 3 forwards plus draft picks for 1 top 3 sometimes top 6 forward.

Then Boston has Swayman as their goalie.of the present. No way they trade him and then you have us overpay for him. Despite all this how does our defense get worse? Or at least not even improve?

I don't think Boston would take that deal mainly because of the rivalry, but im not a Boston fan so I can't say much on what they would want lol

No way Boston trades Swayman. They are trying and wanting to trade Ullmark and would have if Ullmark didn't waive his no trade.
Dumba is a 3rd pairing who is not very good at moving the puck. Ditto for Lyubushkin and Edmundson. There are very good 3rd pairings but nothing more. Same as Benoit. So you are filling out top four with Reilly, McCabe and 4 3rd pairing defensemen. Reilly is good yes but he is at best top 30 type defenseman. So on many teams he would be a number two. mcCabe has improved greatly this year and I am liking his more and more but he is better as a 3/4 D. We are still missing another true top 3 type defense to properly play with Reilly.
