I have no interest in that trade.

Once I see 2 of: Wallinder, Sandin-Pellikka, Kasper, and Danielson, we can work on adding pieces like Chiarot. We'll even retain 50% on Markstrom.

This trade doesn't have enough quality for a #1G, and a #2 D on decent contracts for 2 more years.

The hawks would bail you out of Husso for the right price, but not interested in the Holl contract.

I don't want to rub salt in the wound. I know y'all are hurting right now. What an awful end to the season. What the hell was Torts thinking pulling the goalie in Philly?

But, Holl and Husso are both cap dumps in CHI's eyes. That 3rd round pick doesn't even come close to paying for CHI to take their contracts let alone getting one of our promising goalie prospects, even though Soderblom did have a pretty awful rookie campaign, CHI shouldn't be anywhere near giving up on him. CHI will want a significantly better package to take on their contracts, and likely won't be offering anything in return without a nice bump in value.

I actually have no problem with either player. I like the upside on Husso as a backup better than our current situation, and I think Holl is a good 7D/3rd with lots of NHL experience to add to the locker room. BUT.. taking on 12m takes WAY more than a 3rd.

The rhetoric on this has been so misleading. I was watching both games simultaneously last night. Torts pulled his goalie w/ 3 minutes left in a 1-1 game. Philly HAD to win in regulation to have any shot at making the playoffs. A tie at the end of regulation eliminated the Flyers anyway. At the point Torts pulled his goalie, the Wings were trailing 4-3. The game was NOT tied. The Caps scored the go-ahead empty netter like 3 minutes in real time before Detroit scored the game tying goal in Montreal. Torts did nothing wrong. The Flyers had to win in regulation. Did the Wings get screwed as a result? Absolutely. But it's not like Torts did it to screw the Wings or the Pens. If I was coaching the Flyers last night, I'd have done the same thing.

I know, I know... I was watching the DET game, and I know why Torts did it. I just wanted DET to get in and need someone to blame. haha. The last two DET games against MTL were so electric that I couldn't help but root for them.
