Quoting: Caniac2000
It's scrap. A late 1st, a borderline AHLer, and a 2nd isn't value for Necas. Would you take this years Canes 1st, Suzuki, and a 2nd for Caufield? No. Rightfully so. Necas is more valuable as the natural centerman. More valuable position, plus he's coming off a 70 point season, something Caufield has never done and isn't even on pace for this year
Wow, you didn’t read anything I said lol. Just reread that paragraph. Also, the best comparison for Barron’s value is Nadeau, not Suzuki. I said above that Calgary’s first, Winnipeg’s first, a second and Barron for Caufield would be fair value. So Nadeau, Canes 2024 and 2025 first and a second for Caufield is fair. I wouldn’t do it, and I explained why above, but it’s not crap at all.
When comparing them at the same age, Caufield has a better production. Necas has a 70 pts season in his fourth season, Caufield will probably score 70 pts next year. And Necas is ass at C, if not, they wouldn’t have putted KK and Kusnetsov at 2c before him. He is just like Newhook. So the more valuable position argument isn’t true.
Again, if you just read (you know, the thing thing you learn in elementary school), you’ll see why Necas for Barron, Winnipeg’s first and a second isn’t scrap, and why Carolina wouldn’t do it
Oh and btw, Caufield is struggling offensively this season, but yet, he has better production then Necas…
