The fact that you've included a LhD (and one of very modest accomplishments, at that) in that offer shows that you don't know what Anaheim would be looking for in a Trevor Zegras trade.

Let's stop off for a minute and consider the difference between Zegras and Gabe Vilardi:

Zegras: 200* games, 53 goals, 93 assists = 146 points
Vilardi: 190 games, 57 goals, 51 assists = 108 points
[* 14 this season played with an injury eventually sending him to the LTIR list for 6 weeks, 5 healthy, then 3 shifts in game 20 before breaking his ankle]

So we'd want Brad Lambert or Chaz Lucius plus Vilardi plus a 2024 or 2025 second-round draft pick for Z.

Watch out! You’re going to make some people real upset with the facts you’re laying out for them!

You can have Lucius. In the deal and take out Heinola. You will not get a 2nd as well. Those stats mean nothing, if you think you will get exact stats back then what is the point of making the trade? Let's be honest though, Zegras, much like Vilardi gets hurt a lot. I honestly think his value has dropped and the fact that you heard his name rumored a lot this season means Verbeek wants to move him.

I could see the Sabres being interested in Iafallo
But probably not at the price of a 2nd- that’s a bit high considering his Cap hit & lack of offensive production this season

If by a lot you mean two injuries in three seasons, both happening this season. Then sure. Zegras gets hurt "a lot". First full season he played 75 games and second season 81. For cripes sake the guy plays an intense contact sport and broke his ankle doing so and you want to throw him under the bus for that? If that's your standard they should just shut down the league to protect all the fragile players like Zegras.

No, it means other teams want to acquire him. Verbeek is one of the most close mouthed GM's I've ever seen so none of the rumor stuff came out of Anaheim. It came from other places like Montreal.

The Jets need a Vilardi type more then a Zegras type, then there's the signing factor, WAY better chance for the Jets to extend Vilardi then Zegras.

FYI he had no significant injuries pre-NHL, and then played 156 of 164 games in his first two seasons. This year is the first time he’s had a meaningful injuries in his hockey career. I wouldn’t personally consider that anything close to ‘gets hurt a lot’

Lucius and Vilardi both do have more extensive injury histories. If I’m Verbeek, I’m saying McGroarty is a must for any WPG Zegras trade
