Chicago declines. They aren't going to pay to drop in the first round and take a player they have zero need for.

I have to agree with @PaulKorea that the Hawks aren't likely to trade down in the 1st round. I do believe you have Robertson's value right but I highly doubt Chicago would be interested.

You do know all teams have to play under the cap, right? The Blues obviously are not touching that. Or Marner at all, really. Too much $$$ and way too much ask for one year of him, which is what it would be.

If Minnesota were looking at blowing it up all together, then MAYBE JEEk is on the block. Maybe not even then. He is their most irreplaceable player not named Kaprizov, and they are nowhere close to that scenario. So, the Wild say no.

Chicago easily declines. They might give up a 3rd or 4th for robertson, but even at a 2nd they are highly unlikely to be interested in him

I feel like Marner is worth more than that. a top 4 D and a meh G (if he repeats next year then hes soild) and a 2nd for one of the best playmakers in the league.

Also these trades would physically be unable to happen since both Marner and JEEK would use their NMC to deny the trade

Robertson would be the second best forward on Chicago, he doesn't fit their game plan of being bad.

Blues trade is a maybe and Chicago’s is a no. Maybe like a 3rd for Robertson as a leafs fan but I think it’s underpay in our part

Robertson would not be the second best player on CHI's roster. There is a difference between being bad and building from within. Quit being a Homer when your profile picture is of Ralph.

I said second best forward. For 5v5 points per 60 he'd be second behind Bedard on Chicago. One of the reasons I'm hesitant to trade him for peanuts.

Doesn't look like there's a difference to me. Would be a lot easier to accept that Chicago is blatantly tanking to get Celebrini.

No, Robertson would suffer without the help he gets in Toronto. He's also not better than Kurashev to namely, not to mention next year with Hall back healthy and more help on the way.

A) There's zero acceptance problem with Chicago fans what the plan is in Chicago
B) Robertson would not be the 2nd best forward. He's not better than Kurashev or Hall and his numbers would plummet in Chicago without the help he gets in Toronto.

Robertson has mainly played with Domi as his centre, not Matthews/Tavares. Kurashev's been strapped to Bedard. The "Leafs player only good because other good players" argument doesn't work.

Hall's been on a rough decline. I wouldn't invest a lot in him being that good next season.

He has played with both Matthews & Taveres and as such Marner and Nylander. Look at Robertson's production with those lines versus without.

Hall and Kurashev are both better, especially Kurashev who plays a complete 200 ft game and is very good defensively. And no, Kurashev has not been tied to Bedard the entire season no different then your argument with Robertson and the top 2 lines.

Sure, let me know what I'm missing because the actual data suggests that Robertson doesn't play with AM/JT/MM/NY a lot. Of the four, the most he's with is JT at 80 minutes all season and....is worse with him than without? If you want to be obnoxiously specific, Robertson has played with the top four forwards, but based on the TOI it's basically negligible. And even when he's been put with them, it doesn't provide any evidence it's actually boosted his production. Entirely plausible he'd get more goals and assists with them, but that's not what has happened this season which is what you were implying.

We can look at Kurashev next, whosemost common linemate is Bedard. Narrowing it down, he's played more with Bedard than with anyone else. The values also imply he's not only been significantly less productive without Bedard than with, they've been pretty bad together in general. Maybe that's just consequence of the Blackhawks overall season. Regardless, he's absolutely been strapped to Bedard this season.

So my original post still stands. The "Leafs player only good because other good players" argument doesn't work with Robertson. Absolutely makes a strong case for 2nd best forward on your team considering he doesn't need to rely on star players to produce and actually has knees. He's absolutely worth more than a 4th or whatever pittance picks he's been getting on this forum.

Happy to point out what you are missing. Look at Robertson's point production on the top two lines and you will see that 80% of his point production this season is on the top two lines. He also doesn't have the defensive game Kurashev brings which is what Kurashev is known for. Furthermore, Robertson when he produces is not next to one star on the ice like Kurashev (who outproduces him), but two starts be it Nylander and JT or Matthews and Marner. Kurashev and Bedard play with guys like Joey Anderson who couldn't even make the Leafs squad comparably.

I'm willing to bet hands down 31 GMs in the league would rather have Kurashev with his two way game and rarely injured versus the small fragile Robertson who can't produce without two stars on his line.

For this value, Ek wouldn't even be asked about his NMC. This is horrendous value.

I'd absolutely love to know where you're getting "80% of his point production this season is on the top two lines", because it doesn't sound true unless you think Jarnkrok and Domi are stars or something. The guys who play on the top two lines are Matthews, Tavares, Nylander and Marner who I've already shown don't play with Robertson.

Rest of your post is just absolute nonsense. Kurashev is so good at being a two-way winger, it's why he has the worst +/- on his team despite mostly starting in the offensive zone.
