I don't think it is needed imo. We are quite close to competition, and trading our most "pure offense" forward is shooting ourselves in the foot. It will likely give us a more productive player long term, but I think it just wayyyyy to risky at this stage

Hmm very interesting. I think the Sharks may take that if their pick falls to 2-4. Definitely not if the get the celebrini pick.

I think id disagree, Caufield isnt the type of player Grier seems to want. Sharks need to make high end picks not more middle of the pack firsts.

I just think after Celebrini this year it’s kind of wide open. I hope the Sharks take Levshunov if the don’t get Celebrini, but if you’re giving me the option of Levshunov vs Barron, Caufield, and 2 more 1sts (the Calgary 2025 is the real interesting piece here) I think I may take the quantity over Levshunov in that scenario.

And the Russian factor is something Highes and the Habs have generally stayed away from when drafting in the first round.

I wouldn't trade Caufield straight up for anyone not named Celebrini, let alone add basically 3 more 1st round picks

I cant speak to barrons quality but it seems like the sharks already have a good amount of d prospects of his ilk, although i imagine the right shot and size are tempting. I do think wide open is different from lack of quality. Would Levshunov /Lindstrom be worth more to the sharks than 16-24 this year and 10-16 next year? If you expect that Calgary pick to be top 10 then I would for sure accept it

Why? This is a lateral move. Why dont you instead use our own 1st rounder and move up with it, instead of adding Caufield, who is the only sniper on the team

That a scenario where a guy like Eiserman is available with MTL's 7 OVR pick.

Id rather have Caufield over Eiserman. And id rather have Catton and Caufield over the potential chance of Demidov and Eiserman (Eiserman could easily be picked earlier by Arizona or Ottawa)
