Description
This team is so soft, they have to bring in some size and grit to go along with their youth. Kadri would be a tough sell to get him to waive though

Anaheim says no — we aren’t trading Gudas

We could possibly do the rest of it depending what a 3rd team is going to give us for Mittelstadt

Canes decline. Even if Olofsson wasn't good, he's a rental and not worth a 3rd

I think that your first trade would be declined by both teams. Anaheim has Carlsson and McTavish at center with possibly Zegras and Gauthier, so Mittelstadt isn't a big target. And the whole reason why you'd be trading for Kadri is that losing Mittelstadt creates the hole. Gudas is the only NHL-qualified RhD the Ducks have under contract for next season and I think that both fanbases are happy with their respective goalies. (I know that all Ducks fans are ENTIRELY happy with John Gibson!)

Based on today's performance Dylan cozens will have 164 points.

Great point tho!

Don't you know? UPL is a future superstar goaltender, or so says certain Sabers fans.

Guy has raw talent, I'll give him that, but he has got to be the streakiest goalie of all time. When he's hot he's great, but when he's cold, he's not even AHL quality.

Gibson has been declining for FIVE YEARS now
Plus he’s 30 & not getting younger, Plus he has a bad contract, plus you’re overpaying for him
Bad idea imo

Kadri is an interesting idea
Like u said though, might not be able to get him to waive to come here
And he is a bit old
But we could obviously use a 2way Center like that
I just worry that we’d use him so heavily defensively that it would take too much away from he offense & he’d end up being massively overpaid with us
Interesting idea though

Love where your heads at, I keep seeing Sabres fans on here suggesting we need more 5'9" forwards. Gudas is a fantastic target, Gibson I could take or leave, but I'm not overpaying to get him, for sure. Kadri would actually be a sneaky good target, he's a defensively responsible center that produces offense too, and he's a pest even for an average sized player. Problem with kadri, is that since calgary traded lindholm, they have kadri at center, and not much else. So calgary would have to be stripping it down to the studs to move him.

He just stole that game today for the Ducks. We would be a lot closer to a playoff spot if we had gotten what Gibson did to us earlier in the Season.

If it’s just one game, I thought Gibson was overrated then? Wouldn’t you rather keep you’re elite future superstar goalie then????

Devils advocate here. The Sabres tend to make a lot of goalies look good. I don't hate the idea, but since he's making 6m per, I'm not overpaying to acquire him. For me it would totally depend on the cost to get him. I'd rather spend resources on the skaters in front of the goalie. Look at how well the Sabres have played since the first of the year- they've cut down on a lot of the high danger nonsense, and lo and behold upl looks like a good goalie. Unfortunately, I still think we gotta swap out players because this attention to detail defensively is killing the offense. I guess with this build that they HAVE to score off the rush, because if the other team is set up, they will just fire shots from the 3 point line with nobody in front. My 2 cents, not sure it's even worth that though.

Oh I don't want Gibson, they need to fix other Areas. But he would have helped in the beginning of the Year.

I don't think UPL is a superstar.

But he's 7 years younger than gibson, cheaper too, and probably better.

Then mittelstadt >>>> guess

But mainly just pointing out how saying you can't do something because of one game is hilarious.

I guess if one were to only look at the stats and read 4 goals on 15 shots it appears Luukkonen played poorly.
Watching the replay of the goals will tell a different story.
Erik Johnson misses passing cross ice to a wide open Ryan Johnson, loses a puck battle to Johnston which led to a wide open Henrique in the high slot for an easy goal.
Erik Johnson, again, fails to tie up the stick of Vatrano that led to the easiest goal Frank will ever score.
Erick Johnson, opps again, has a horrible turnover at the blue line leaving Ryan Johnson to defend against McTavish and Vatrano has another easy goal into an open net.
The fourth goal Luukkonen should have saved even though Ryan Johnson and Cliffton allowed Terry to skate to the front of the net.
It was difficult to watch Johnson play so poorly, Luukkonen was not the reason the Sabres lost the game, terrible turnovers and poor defensive play left him out to dry too many times.

Couldn't agree more, UPL looking like he found himself is one of the only bright spots so far. Eric Johnson and Clifton look like they both have checked out!
