Holtz, 2024 First, 2025 First, 2024 Third for Marky 50% retained. Nothing less, Marky has proven he’s one of the best in the league and should be treated in a trade as such.

Maybe not, but dont think its outside the realm and NJD dont have a 2nd. I'd think a good prospect and a bit more like a 2nd or 3rd based on NJD pressure to perform this year.

NJD dont have a 2nd and need to move a bit of cap, so good prospect and a 3rd, becomes good prospect, cap (Vanecek) and a 1st. And based on the lineup above Holtz or Mercer is easily replaced.

He’s Vézina caliber now, and is playing like the best goalie in the league as of late. A first, top prospect + is the least I’d expect from a trade including Marky. Everybody is so hung up on last season saying “he showed his true colours” or some bs like that when the truth is he’s truly one of the best goaltenders in the league, year in and year out and has carried his team to a potential wildcard spot when we should be tanking.

Is it likely he’d get 2 firsts, no, but is it any more likely that Conroy will trade him, also no.

I would accept just Mercer for sure. No additional pieces, nothing fancy and would be willing to retain.

If Jersey wanted to send back cap dumps I would want more though.

Is Mercer really any better than someone like Zary though? To lose our #1 Star goaltender for a guy that plays maybe a little better than our rookie and can be invisible at times would honestly be a travesty. He plays with one of if not the best top 6 in the league and puts up the same amount of points as Zary. Is he good, yes, is he good enough to warrant a top 5 goalie in the league rn, no.

These are packages I wouldn't trade for any goalie in the league and they're being thrown around like it's nothing.

We would not trade you Mercer unless it was for Hanifin 50% retained AND Markstrom 50% retained.

Varlamov Schneider and Andersen were all in their mid 20s. 34 year old has a lot less value

It's not what we need now, it's what we need in 2-3 seasons.

If Wolf continues to dominate he should be a bonafide starter in 2-3 seasons, at that point would you rather have Mercer and Wolf or just Wolf. Markstom isn't sticking around at point anyway.

New Jersey needs a Goalie now, we need a young centre/winger with top 6 potential.

Mercer and Holtz are not on the table hope this helps.

Imo Zary is that guy

NJD is not offering Mercer even if you retain 50%, hope this helps make your decision easier.

There are 6 players in the top 6, Zary only takes up one spot.

Huberdeau will still be there and hopefully so will Coronato.

There is room for sure and Mercer could take up one of the available spots for the next decade.
