You are not getting Raty + 3rd for Domi. Domi went for a 2nd last season when he had 18g/49pts in 61 games and the exact same cap hit.

Domi only has 4 goals and 23 points in 43 games. You'd be lucky to get a 3rd for him this year.

Tavares would most likely happen in the offseason. I doubt the Avs would get him.

Take out Raty and the Canucks might do it

"If" the Leafs were sellers...they should have done it before extending Nylander. That might would have been the best return.

Canucks decline. Domi returned a 2nd last year with Chicago having to take back a $2.5M cap dump AHL goalie and give up a low tier prospect. Domi has been worse this year, maximum I’d give up for him is a 3rd.

Are everyone here avoiding the elephant in the room? What is that horrendous Tavares trade. Sakic would immeidately get fired if he did that. Byram alone is much more valueable than Tavares. Let alone all the rest off the stuff in the deal.

A Nylander return wouldn't have been half enough to make it make sense. If you could get this much for a year and a half of JT it makes sense to do so right now. This team isn't good enough.

I certainly don't see it happening. But moving JT would certainly help the team.

You mean the Max Domi that has never found a permanent home and has been traded numerous times only to be shown to not be a difference-maker? GM's need to learn that role-players aren't needle-movers worth moving 1sts for. There are very, very few players that are worth a 1st in a rental situation that are going to clearly raise your odds of winning the Cup to justify the cost of acquiring them.
