If the Habs get a 1st for Savard... They have to take it. I don't want them to sell, but an overpay like that moves the needle.

If the Hawks do decide to trade Dickinson, it won't be for less than a 2nd w/ retention. Since the Leafs have no 2nd round picks til 2027, probably a prospect like Minten.

Trading Savard means relying even more on Justin Barron who has a hard time playing top 4 minutes. Every youngster will play more minutes. Matheson will play more and he hasn’t been good this season (defensively). This trade would rush one of Reinbacher/Hutson/Mailloux in the NHL next year. Not an ideal move

I don't think it's an overpay. He takes a beating because he's playing out of role (2nd pair d on the top pair) but Savard is a very, very solid defenceman.

Not necessarily, Matheson-Guhle, Struble-Barron, Harris-Kovacevic with Lindstrom as the 7th guy, it's still solid and doesn't rush the prospects. We can even bring up Xhekaj if we wanted. I do agree however that it is much better to keep Savard, especially if we squeak into the playoffs.

We ain’t squeaking into the playoffs lol we will draft bottom 10. But Harris-Kovacevic would definitely be the 2nd pairing and Struble-Barron the 3rd pairing. Still, I would rather move Matheson than Savard
