Why pay so much for a Dman that cant defend? If youre gonna pay that much, might as well get Jiricek

With the top 10 protection on the picks it doesn’t give the isles much incentive to do this

Think the blues will hold onto the cheaper and less term option in Saad. Anderson doesn't make any sense for us

WTF is this?! 3 1st round picks ++ for a D man that is only worth a 1st + 2nd or 3rd!!! Might better go after Barrie if you want an offensive D man, at least he would be cheap

Dobson is a Norris caliber defenseman at 23 years old. 1st a 2nd and a 3rd lol. He’s better than anyone on the habs by a long shot

Oh no, a PPG dmen is worth a 1st and 2nd/3rd at most... 😆

I don't know what is more laughable, the AGM or the fact that you passed over the highest d in the last draft + 2 other first ... LOL !! I wouldn't even do Reinbacher vs Dobson one for one ... LOL!

The odds of reinbacher being 75% as good as Dobson are extremely low . Reinbacher probably settles in as a solid 2nd pair D .

The Islanders aren't trading Noah Dobson.

And Steven Stamkos isn't wasting his time on a rebuilding team like Montreal either.

OMG why do people insist on declaring things as fact when they don't actually know what they're on about? I'm legit baffled.

Hes 22nd percentile in 5v5 Defense if you combined the last 3 years and he doesnt play the PK

I guess 23 YO defenseman can’t improve defensively. This year he has been good defensively while playing 25 min a night against top competition.

He does PK. You must’ve not watched the Habs game last week where he had the primary assist on Nelson’s goal on the PK

And? You think that somehow makes him Tyson Barrie? And what pray tell are his "5v5 defense" numbers this season?

The Islanders rebuild... by trading away a 23-year-old PPG+ defenseman who is logging 25+ minutes a night.

Interesting strategy

Kind of like selling off a pile of lumber to raise money for supplies to build a house.

You kinda did. And how are we coming with those 5v5 defensive numbers for this season, when lots of people would suggest Dobson as playing like a Norris finalist?

Karlsson won the Norris with some of the worst defensive numbers ever. Norris is a award for the D man with most points

Dobson has 0.057 xGA/60 and a 0.99 CA/60. But an actual -0.14 GA/60. Sorokin is saving his ass from even more goals against. Hes below average defensively

tears of joy

1 - What on Earth does Karlsson have to do with anything?

2 - Heh. So Sorokin personally rescues just him a lot, huh? In other words, you do not actually watch Dobson play. Gotcha.

1. Youre kinda slow eh? You said people are talking about Dobson playing like a Norris finalist. I then explained that the Norris is a points award and not actual defensive play. I used Karlsson as an example because he is the biggest example of it. All points, 0 defence

2. Sorokin saves a lot of people. So does Varlamov. Thats why they have a combined 13 Goals saved above expected. Now since you are so slow, ill explain. The Isles goalie tandem have allowed 13 less goals then expected because they are making ridiculous saves.

1 - Yeeeeeah, except Dobson is not that type of player so it's left field irrelvant.

2 - (sigh)

Why do you just jump to personal insults? Is that you demonstrating your superior intellect? Good grief.

And again, where is it established they specifically save Dobson's rear? You keep bringing up points with at best tangential relevance and assuming direct causation. Like how he doesn't PK... well, it makes a lot of sense not to waste his energy on PK when they have all those pure defensive Dmen around. You declare that proof he can't defend, but it just sounds like smart coaching.
