Those are fine with me. Washington is in a really tough spot with Ovie adamant that he wants to compete! Talk about sunk cost. Pearson/Dadonov, Mantha/Gurianov. Similarities are striking.

Yeah, they're not scoring much but they're somehow 3rd in the Atlantic. If they're really planning to compete, I think they gotta target a real difference-maker upfront (Ex. Buchnevich). Those extra $2.5M gained from a Mantha+ for Pearson swap could help.

I don’t know why many COL fans are saying that. I feel like they could use an experienced, versatile forward who can play all three positions. Not many options available at that cap hit, and I think he’d be an upgrade over Johansen/Colton.

I think the extra year is perfect tbh. It allows TOR to have a reliable option while Woll progresses, and expires right when the latter needs a new contract. I don’t know if any decent FA option would sign a one-year deal that’d time that perfectly.

Zero chance leafs pay a 3rd for Allen, zero. And I am much more comfortable with Sammy (his ceiling is floors higher) than Allen anyway. Preposterous

Because the #1 desire for COL forwards is skating ability, not a Monahan strength, #2 if you aren’t number 29 or 96 you need to be a relentless forechecker transition player, again not a strength of Monahan and #3 availability something Monahan doesn’t do well at all. What I don’t understand is how MTL fans continue to try to force this when it’s always an overpay based off “well he has had a great 25 games” to ignoring what COL fans are saying about it being a bad fit as COL tries to deal with a square peg in a round hole in RyJo. Why would COL double down on bad fits?

Xqb summed it up well. If I had to target a Habs player, it would probably be one of your Dmen in Kovacevic because we're shy on rhd, and Guhle because I really liked him at his wjc and think he could be a solid JJ replacement. How come Wifi is getting ahl time?

Not sure how to value them tbh, since none really fill a need, anything I post would probably be an undervalue. What would you ask for in seperate trades for Kova and Guhle?

He's just there, he skates and plays hockey. He's just a body but I think some team might be tempted by a depth RFA RHD with NHL experience

Guhle is close to untouchable. He's not going anywhere because he's progressing at such an impressing rate.

Kovacevic is probably worth a 3rd, but I don't think they're actively shopping him. He's been a steady presence and is dirt cheap for next season also.

Xhekaj I think is on an "unofficial" conditioning stint. He was injured not long ago and doesn't require waivers. He can now get back to his game while Struble gets an extended look on the main roster.

Caps have the 2nd best Pts% in the metro, but adding 2.5m in cap doesn't do anything as they've got over 8m in cap space and will still have 6m when Patches comes back. Mantha's been really solid for the Caps alongside McMike I wouldn't want to give him away for Pearson rn. The only guy I'd look at trying to get from MTL is Ylonen to replace Philips/Oshie in the middle 6.

If it’s a long term solution at a legit 2C with term or somebody they can re-sign then the only things not on the table to negotiate are Mack, Makar, Mikko, Toews and Georgiev. I’d love to swing something for McTavish but that’s probably means Byram has to go the other way +, the hardest part is if you have a 2C you don’t want to lose them. I’ve spent more than a fair amount of time thinking where COL would be if they had one the lottery when they had OTT pick and gotten Hughes.

To be fair. I didn’t see one Avs fan on here at 2022 TDL say they needed Lehkonen. Actually they all opposed it when mentioned every single time and the price was usually a late 1st. Too many fan bases expect something flashy for a 1st. Boring Sean Monahan isn’t just a meme in their eyes.

I do remember some of them wanting Lehkonen but not wanting to spend more than a very late second/early 3rd.

I was down for Lehkonen I wasn’t thrilled with price at the time though I will readily admit, I’ll also admit I was wrong about the price being to much.

Highly, highly unlikely. Anton Lundell is a stud. He's a top 5 pick in a redraft. Pronman had him at number 3 in October even before Nikishin.
