To me Hanafin just makes sense

He was willing to sign a deal with CGY for 8 years that would total almost 60m but CGY shut things down after their skid

Trade for him and get him to sign that after

He fits the criteria of what they need


Zadorov just feels like an overpriced mistake. Like if we need a guy go buy low on Peeked heck you could probs get CBJ to pay us

While I don't think there's any doubt that most would prefer Hanafin to Zadorov....I think one may be available now for an affordable price and the other may not be available ever...or be fairly expensive if he is.

Calgary, for now at least, is sniffing around a wild card spot and probably isn't motivated to make a move until closer to the deadline.

If Zadorov is still pushing for a move, he'd be more immediate help, especially if Calgary retains or takes salary back.

Smart thing is probably to wait and ride it out with our reserves until we know what we can do with Klingberg. If he's coming back at some point we're kind of handcuffed.

Oh no he was hurt after game 4 he was acting different. Even Dangle mentioned he was looking out of character and probs hurt after game 4. As we saw little pushback like the past 2 games, little fight, basically he was completely different

The moment he came back on the ice after a couple of games in pressbox much better and was was looking like his old self. To bad we wasted the CHI game but thats where he shined. Wrestled Jones, scored, and looked good. Heck even against FLA 4th line for both teams looked the best.

I always thought Zadorov was/is a 3rd pair D and really nothing more. Playing him higher in the D pairings is just asking for disappointment.

It's kind of why I'm one of few people who would pass on him as trade option.

Like to me if you get Zadorov if Tanev aint also coming than uh oh

If you go for just him and only him and dont plan to add another D afterwards that aint good enough. Thats why to me if were targeting a single CGY D, Hanafin makes the most sense. As he aint injury prone like Tanev or isnt a bottom pair guy like Zadorov. He slots in nicely on the 2nd pair and allows for McCabe to move down if need be.

With CGY winning though idk when Conroy gonna go yea lets deal. And idk if Brad wants to wait to long

Well you can choose to disagree with me but I feel this team has plenty of 3rd pair D and a few 7-8 guys stepping up and filling in quite nicely IMO.
