Can't understand why people on this site continue to act like Anderson is good - let alone actually worth any type of positive value.
I at least get Habs fans being delusional about him - that makes sense, but the rest of us have no excuse

Who has said he is good? Lol other than this one guy pretty much everyone on this site thinks he's a cap dump. The only reason Habs fans think he has value is because insiders keep telling everyone that NHL GMs have put offers in for him and been declined, fans can have one opinion but it's still a FACT that the old boys club that runs NHL teams think he has value and in the end those are the opinions that matter

I think that if he had any real value, he'd have been traded by now. Maybe they did turn down an offer awhile ago, it isnt there anymore.

And yes, there are plenty of people like OP who think JA is good

Josh Anderson at 5.5m is too much. Anderson at 3.5m would be a great add though. Super speedy, HUGE, drives the net, can score. He isn't good outside of that but a player like that would be a great add to any team. But not at 5.5m.

I think the Leafs should prioritize any trade/cap they have on getting a big, physical, top 4 dman. Not on a 5.5m winger.

Let's say Gudas throws that hit on game 1 of the series? You don't think Reaves won't be on his a** every shift that he's on for every game of the series? Let's say they both fight, they get out of the box together. They will be on the ice again

Leafs were intimidated by the Panthers. The entire point is based on intimidation, nothing more, nothing less. No one had an answer for Bennett, no one had an answer for Tkachuk. No one had an answer for Gudas. Why is that? They were scared to deal with the consequences if they got on the bad side of one of these guys. It's why Marner laughed when he got punched by Tkachuk, all he can do

Let's be real here, we got lucky with that Tampa series, we didn't deserve to win it. However, luck is sometimes what you need to win a series

If that's it, just luck, then that's what cost them vs Florida. Matthews hit the post something like 5 times in that series. That's some pretty bad luck.

But back to Gudas, Reeves running him in retaliation is going to do what? We have seen what happens. Kadri was suspended twice for "standing up" for his teammates. Funny how you have either forgotten that or just refuse to acknowledge it because it blows your whole argument to nothing.

It was literally talked about last trade deadline that they turned down multiple offers, so it's still completely there. Habs know he's a player who's value likely won't change much, now or at the TDL at the end of his contract, there's always a team that will overpay for a 6'4 player that has the reputation he has

Never underestimate the stupidity of NHL GMs, but they are on average getting smarter.

If you can get Ken Holland on the line however...itll be open ****in' season

Crazy how all these warrior players you love were so intimidated by florida, but don't worry, these NEW warrior players will get it done! Just like komisaerk and orr and mclaren .

Any gm who turns down good offers for a guy like josh anderson is unlikely to find too many dumber dance partners

This dude is obsessed with him, but then reaves is one of his favorite players

Love how he also uses "rest of us" as if he's speaking for everyone... He's just trolling everyone throwing insults like a 5 year old.

Anderson was actually asked for by other GMs last year, Habs said no. Since other GMs asked for him, I'm guessing this guy know better than actual hockey people..

Anderson is a freight train, and currently 20 goals scorer on a bad team. He needs other bigger players in order to produce which Habs don't have right now, so a team like the Leafs could actually benefit from his bursts. I would even see him in Buffalo where they would also benefit from a guy able to actually carry the puck in for their finishers to do their jobs. He'd still hit the 20+goals a year, but would potentially move up his passing points to over 40 per year with both thos teams.

At 5.5M$/year he'll be worth it. I'M a Habs fan and see how most are salivating at our 1st center NIck Suzuki. But in reality, he's not even top 30 centerman in the league. Finished 33rd in points and a -16. I love his skills but I think on any winning team, he's a second line centerman. So Anderson can't produce with him or Dach at this time. Worse when he plays with Dvorak. GIving him a team that can use his skills will double his value. I'm not saying this trade reflect his value, I know Toronto need to move cap and their 1st will likely be 30th to 33rd since I think they will finally have contention rights.. So it's not a big loss for the Leafs, but yeah.. He could be something of a factor for them.

I'm saying that the margins are so slim that it doesn't ****ing matter.

For example: You could be a 100 percentile defensive player, but if you only do it in fourth line minutes - all you amount to is Zack Aston Reece

He struggles to hit 20 goals a year. I dont care if most of those are at evens there isnt much value there

Josh Anderson isn't playing top 6 minutes on any good team tho. So even if traded to a contender he'd still be playing with a 3C

You know who had a similar or better 5v5 goals/60 than josh anderson the past 3 years? Pierre engvall, and he's also very fast in a straight line but can actually play defence and C if needed.
And we all know how people love pierre engvall

Nope. Exactly the type of guy we need

A guy who will put up less than 40 points, and be a defensive liability for $5.5M

At half that, maybe. Doubt the Habs are willing to do the Leafs any favours.
