Still too much for Hanifin. He doesn't push us over that bump to make us true contenders again, and that price tag is nuts.

What would that have to do this? Nashville doesn’t need to be spending 22m on 4 LDs. Adding Hanafin would make us better, but that isn’t the direction that this team is going right now.

That'd be a crazy trade for Nashville to make, not something they would or should do, even with an extension its an overpay for Hanifin.

Thats a pretty fair price for Cbus to pay for Lindholm and while I like the player I think Cbus just shouldn't bother even if he was willing to extend, his next contract is gonna be brutal by the sounds of it.

Kemell is arguably Nashville's top prospect. Hanifin's value is around a 1st + 2 x 2nds. That's why I don't think that a 1st would be a part of the trade. I also think it's more likely that the Flames take Barrie instead of Lauzon in that trade.

How about this:
To NSH: Hanifin, Dube
To CGY: Kemell, Molendyk, Barrie

If Lindholm could be extended for eight or under per year or for less than max term at 8ish, I’d do that for Columbus. But that’s too much for no extension to a team that isn’t a contender, and the team has to manage its cap very carefully in the coming years.

We just really love Backlund in CGY. I agree that trade won't happen.

Also, nashville was 12th in the league for goals against per game. Sure there is room for improvement there but they were 28th in goals for per game. They simply arent going to trade their best goal scoring forward prospect for another dman. Add that to the cap realities of having around 35 million tied up in a defense core.

Eh the lindholm trade is better than most of the absurd trade ideas by Calgary fans but I’m kinda over lindholm at this point. Giving up what it would cost to get him on top of giving him big money at 30 years old while also needing to extend marchenko and and Johnson just doesn’t make lindholm worth it. I’d rather Columbus get another middle 6 center to let fantilli Jenner and aforementioned center battle out for top line duties.
