Logan Stanley has signed a new contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

I was under the impression that he wouldn’t re-sign. Good deal, though.

This signing was necessary because of the offer sheet the Leafs were about to tender.

He merely signed his qualifying offer. He only asked for a trade because he was slipping down the depth chart and wanted to have a chance to go to a team where he would have a better opportunity to get the lineup more than 19 times/season. He likely gets added to a Scheifele or Hellebuyck trade.

almost league min for a guy who's still relatively young and has elite size that he uses to be physical and play well defensively. not much potential but can still improve and play higher in the lineup if he's helping balance a pair with a smaller, offensive-defenseman.

If Stanley can get 1mil I should be able to get a league min offer

On the one hand, he's had some injury problems and isn't playing great even when he's playing.
On the other hand, it's 100% buriable and he remains an RFA at the end of the contract.

I'm sure they will be able to move him, likely for a pick or another reclamation project.

I mean... it's hard to really say any contract that you can fully bury in the minors is THAT bad, but he's not an NHL player imo. He's not good. If he wasn't 6'7 he wouldn't still be getting these opportunities
