Written from a random middle aged man with no background knowledge am I right? Swap Beauvillier with Garland and there’s a start at least.

I think swapping in Garland for Beauvillier would be preferable for VAN as it would clear up some cap room in future years.

I get that Cbus has a surplus of RHD and the Nucks could use a RHD but doesn't Cbus also have a surplus of wingers, not sure I really see a fit here.

Columbus was 28th in scoring last year thier middle 6 could use a boost in the scoring department. Too many young players and not enough established producers from what I can see. I think Garland would be the better fit for Columbus he's proven he can produce no matter what line he is on. Beauvillier has only proven to produce when on a top pairing.

The funny thing about Columbus is they have all these "surpluses" but their defence was utter trash all last season. Peeke was wrecked all game every game and still people see a big RD who hits sometimes and he's golden. Apart from clearing space for Vancouver, this doesn't really help their defence.

Did you maybe miss the part where they had 500+ games lost due to in season injuries? Just maybe has more to do with their lack of scoring than the young guys who were playing fine. There's no interest in adding another $5M winger who's going to get locked in on the 3rd line.

Your right. We had a horrid defense last year. That was borderline embarrassing! Only if our GM did anything to address that issue which would create a surplus of bottom 4 pairing defenders (or bottom 6 forwards cuz you discussed depth across the lineup)….

Edit so you are clear in understanding the sarcasm he acquired 2 top 4 defenders. (3 if you count Werenski coming back after only playing 12 games)

No, no. The fan of the other team knows better. As long as a Canadian team benefits, who cares about Columbus?

Looked it up, the only major forward I see missing significant time for you was Jakub Voracek, between him JakeB and ZackW there is about half your games lost to injury. Voracek is no longer on the team and no one was brought in to fill the gap, maybe Fantilli plays 3c and you move Roslovic to wing and it works out. But I was replying to the previous statement that Columbus was deep on wingers and that to me does not look to be the case.

Laine - 55 games
Boone - 68 games
Marchenko - 59 games (due to late call up not injuries)
Nyquist- 48 games
Chinakhov - 30 games
Voracek - 11 games
Danforth - 6 games
Texier - 0 games (Leave of absence)

The Jackets are going into the season with Gaudreau, Laine, Johnson, Marchenko, Roslovic, Chinakhov, Texier, Robinson, Olivier, Danforth, Foudy, Bemstrom, and Voronkov for potential wingers. They're 13 deep on NHL capable wingers with their top 4 locked in so they have 9 options for their bottom 4 wingers as it is. They're plenty deep on the wings.

Garland would have negative value to the jackets. The whole reason they would be doing this trade is to get future cap off the books. Not add an overpaid third line winger which they have too many of as is
