The guy is 22… he has only played on garbage teams, and defensemen that they’re prime a lot later than forwards. Trading him for FCs just screams Doug McLean move

I advocate that Provorov, Severson, Werenski, Peeke, and even Gudbranson for that matter CAN defend, albeit none of them are elite at it, but the likes of Boqvist and Bean are both very much liabilities in that department

Offensive defensemen aren't the type of players that take longer than average to develop, these guys should be hitting their stride no later than age 22 or 23

Over giving boqvist over for literally nothing? Yes absolutely. If you don’t like him and think he should be traded then fine but he is still an asset that can bring back a return so giving him away for nothing is just a dumb move when there is no need to.

If you describe it that way, then Conor Garland and Brock Boeser are both "assets" for Vancouver as well
