Hawks say thanks but no thanks. They're keeping those LD spots open for a reason. If Winnipeg wants to pay a 3rd to get rid of Dillon the hawks might consider it.

This is going to sound really crazy, I know, I hear it, but I personally think Lowry holds more value on this team than Nylander does. Lowry would be my pick to be the next captain of this team and I feel like he is a good person to have running that room.

I would not make this trade. Plus Nylander's dad is a greedy ****. No chance he re-signs here.

Extreme overpay for one year of Nylander. Obviously the Jets don't consider that.

I see Winnepeg and Vilardi wanting a bridge contract, he wants to prove himself and the Jets need to make sure his injuries are behind him. 2x$4.25-4.5M seems fair for both sides and I believe he's still an RFA after that.

If the Jets are just giving Dillon away for free, some team would probably take him. But it won't be the Hawks.

Hard to tell but I hope you’re speaking sarcastically..

2 bottom 6 players that don’t have anymore upside in Appleton and Lowry.

    An AHL scorer in Harkins.

A prospect that’s nearing bust territory in Heinola.

    And a couple picks.

… man that doesn’t even get the conversation started for Nylander let alone being considered an overpay.

    Quantity does not = quality

The one real thing of value here is maybe the 2024 1st especially if WPG moves Hellybuyck along with the 2nd

Lowry, Harkins, Appleton, and Heinola are meh. Dont move the needle enough to make it like cool those will be nice additions

Lol. It's kinda telling how biased you are when you skip the 1st and 2nd for a rental.

A 1st and 2nd on their own not only start the conversation, but would be by far the best bid.

No, it would not, Leafs would get at least 2 1sts+ solid prospect + solid roster player for a 40 goal scorer, look at what Van got for Horvat and what CHI got for DeBrincat

    Shouldn't be giving Dillon away.

Too much for Foote and he's nothing more then a 3rd pair guy at this point.

Nylander won't sign with the Jets so it's not worth it.

A bit too much for Kupari.

If they could get a 2nd for Stanley he probably would've been traded already.

Not when the picks mean very little to a contending team..
& everyone knows Nylander wouldn’t be a rental. He’s likely to come with an extension similar to all the other stars that are getting dealt in similar situations.
The bias is you thinking this is an overpay. Bottom 6 players and a couple of picks doesn’t get you an all star. Not even as a rental.

A 1st and a okay prospect is the going price for a rental at the TDL. Getting a shutdown 3C on a his contract that you desperately need, a good prospect and two other roster players along with a 1st and a 2nd is ridiculous. No rental winger has ever returned that much.

Leafs don’t need a 3C shutdown centre. David Kampf does that role great in Toronto and is cheaper.

That “good” prospect is nearing bust territory. He’s 22 and only has 35 games of experience. Hard to debate that being good for a former 1st round pick.

There’s just really nothing of value here for Toronto. Again, everyone knows if Nylander is moved it comes with an extension. The DeBrincat deal is likely the best comparable. Starts with a 2nd line winger, a B prospect and then figure out the picks from there.
