DACHs value increased since the trade.

I do feel like he is worth around a 25th-30th OA pick. He was the center piece of the Seth Jones trade and last year when he was the QB of the CBJ PP1 for the first time in what feels like 2-3 seasons we had a decent PP.

Then maybe take out the 2nd and do a 2024 1st (Top 10 protected)

Jarmo would probs do top 5 protected depending on how much he likes Dach. I think there were reports that we were in on him last summer when he was being shopped around.

So the odd man out of your top 4 is worth aguably a 13th overal pick (which was Dach's low value)?

While Bob seems like a nice RD to have - I'm not willing to send our #2 Center with great potential for a guy getting passed by Blankenburg, Severson and Gudbranson in the depth chart.

I do think people generally underestimate Boqvist's value. They forget how young he is because he's been in the NHL for 5 years. He took strides last year, especially as an athlete, and is primed to keep moving up.


It is worth noting that Dach's value did indeed go up. He remains an excellent target for CBJ. Honestly, I hope CBJ can do some work to scoop up some players in the remnants of wherever PLD goes. If that's MTL, Dach. If it's LAK, Vilardi. If it's FLA, Reinhart. Something to that effect would go a long way.

TBF its not like Dach stays healthy all the time either. He is tougher than Boqvist but he also misses games.

Boqvist is 100% our 2RD right now. Above Gudbranson and Blanks by far lol. But I get it. I think if PLD ends up on the Habs a trade may be worked out between CBJ and Montreal.

Dach isn’t on the trade block. Neither for Boqvist or any player. He was Mtl best players on second Half of the season. Wouldn’t be surprised that he get near a point per game this season.

The idea of Boqvist being available and thus teams wanting him is born from the thought that he's being squeezed out in CLB in the lineup this year and may come at a not so expensive cost for teams to acquire.

If he's being shopped at top dollar, I don't think many teams will be interested at that cost.

Well since Dach is a former 3rd OV pick (was valued between 10-11 since it was the 13th+66th OV picks for him), maybe the 3rd OV and 5th OV picks should be in the conversation. Assuming, MTL gets PLD, Roslovic isn't going to bring any value to the trade and they probably won't want his cap hit either. The difference between the 3rd OV and 5th OV is the 37th+101st (MTL's 2nd and 4th). I would value Dach like a 10th OV pick since that's basically what he was acquired for last off-season, so then it's just determining the difference between Dach and Boqvist.

So, the starting point would be:

CBJ receives: 1st MTL + 2nd MTL + 4th MTL+ Dach
MTL receives: 1st CBJ + Boqvist +...

It would probably make sense to remove the MTL 2nd since they would want more picks vs CBJ and then add whatever needs to be done.


Benefit of including of the pick swap:

I know a lot of CBJ fans will be against trading the 3OV except for a bonafide C, but chances are that Carlsson is making less of an impact than Dach will in the following season. MTL would likely select Michkov/Carlsson (BPA) or Reinbacher (if they draft based on need) which might mean that SJ takes Carlsson/Reinbacher but CBJ can still get a C in Will Smith. There is the possibility that MTL and SJ take two of Reinbacher/Michkov/Smith and Carlsson drops to CBJ anyways.

HABS are not looking for the 3rd pick, they are negotiating for the 2OA or 4AO. At 2 they draft Fantilli or at 4 they draft Smith

Now this is a deal I could get behind. I could even see this Dach/Boqvist swap rolled into the 3OA for 5OA discussion, as long as CBJ are assured that MTL is taking Michkov so they can be sure they are getting a center at 5.

If both of those pics are not available and 3 is for Dach then you have to go with 3 if you want Smith. It isn't just 2 or 4 or no deal.
