Description
Cap will likely go up drastically in 2-3 season. Armia cap penalty will be easier to absorb. Monahan test free agency but come back on a one year prove deal. Dubois sign offer sheet and Winnipeg match it they can’t trade him this season. Or they can take the pick and pass on

Détails additionnels:
Chicago need roster filler players. Can be use a trade ship at the deadline maybe if not he will provide support to their young offensive star. Not the sexiest trade but Chicago get a very interesting prospect. Great skater, good transition Dman and they get a player who can play in Nhl. Theres no need to play kid if their not ready. They also get a great leader in Edmunson who have been great for MTL young D. Could be trade up at the deadline for a very interesting return if he stay healthy.

No from Winnipeg. Harris is worthless to them, Dvorak is very close to worthless and a late 1st is a late 1st.

You have to realize Montreal has no leverage, absolutely none. They have no control whatsoever on where PLD goes.

30 other teams beat that offer easily.

Please tell me how Winnipeg has no leverage? Dubois is an RFA, they qualify him and they hold all of the leverage. They can and will trade him to the highest bidder. Dubois agents comment was he would like one day to wear the Canadiens jersey. I highly doubt that means right now when they are so bad. It will likely be when he is at the end of his career or they are a contender. If you actually believe that Winnipeg holds no leverage then the same could be said for Montreal and Caufield. Remember one thing. Montreal does not dictate what Winnipeg gets for Dubois. It will be Winnipeg making the demands and Montreal's choice to take it or leave it. Many other teams will be willing to pay for him. Also, please stop with the 60 point center-man comment. This isn't a fantasy hockey league where all that matters is points. Bergeron is a sixty point player as well. It is the same defensive style that Dubois possesses that and I highly think people say that Bergeron holds no value because of his 60 points.

Chicago declines. They won't be giving up draft capital for expiring contracts when they can just fill roster spots by overpaying on 1 year free agent deals.

They have about 19millions reason to do so. They have to reach cap floor. And they can trade those 2 pieces back at the deadline. Especially Edmundson who have a very good reputation around the league. Don’t expect free agent player to rush themselves in Chicago. Even with Bedard this team is horrible. And they need veteran players to surround their youngsters.

Yikes comparing Dubois to Bergeron is brutal. I will end this conversation right away.

I question Dubois not probably taking his highest payday from Winnipeg, or why he would go home to take a discount and be second fiddle. Not the alpha dog that I would be overly excited about Montreal. But not here nor there hopefully his exit will lead to a full rebuild and get some physical swagger back in Winnipeg over drafting tiny players over and over again.

Hawks can overpay someone like Domi who loves playing for Richardson. They can also overpay a few of their RFA's like Jones if they need to.

Stop with the "Hawks can flip them at the deadline" narrative. There's no guarantee they're healthy at the deadline so why gamble a 2nd round pick for nothing?

Also there are guys like Bailey, Murray, and Myers that teams are willing to trade draft capital to shed salary. There's absolutely no need to flip picks to get to the floor.

Harris looks alright, but he's an LHD, which is the absolute very last thing Winnipeg needs more of.

Which is why Winnipeg wouldn't ask for him in a trade. Sure, you can throw him in, but he doesn't move the trade needle at all, so it's kind of a waste as you still need to offer someone Winnipeg wants.

Harris play both side even by the end of the season he was more often use on the right side due to the logjam Mtl have on the left side.

Bergeron has played for 19 years and only twice has he been a PPG player. What stats are you looking at. Yes, Dubois is that good defensively.
