The point of moving Murray is to shed cap, not take on more.

Sammy and Woll will have the crease next year.

If Woll takes this opportunity and runs with it (I know its almost impossible to come back from 3-0 but) if it happens or he just is excellent and prolongs the inevitable. I would trade Samsonov because he's not a cup winning goalie I think. The guy has let in 2 truly awful goals in these playoffs. I just want a goalie who doesn't let in softies in the playoffs. Samsonov hasn't proven he's that guy yet.bb

Woll has played less than 5 periods in the playoffs. Yeah he has played well, but to trade away both your legitimate starting goaltenders and put all your faith in a rookie is a big mistake in my opinion.

If they truly believe Woll is the real deal, move Murray, give Sammy a 1 or 2 year deal, and give Woll the majority of the starts. But they can't put all their eggs in one basket, especially when it'll be contract years for Matthews and Nylander, they'll need to remain competitive.

Trade Sammy, keep Murray as the tandem with Woll.

I think the ship has sailed with Murray. You're essentially taking the same risk I mentioned above because of Murray's injury history. If he goes down, your tandem is Woll and Kallgren, not good.

Why? Kallgren has played fine as a backup in the NHL and Woll continues to look quite good.

Kallgren has played 24 NHL games total, below .900 save %. Even his AHL numbers over the last two years aren't great.

He's had a few good games, but that's certainly not enough to say he's ready to take the reigns if Woll goes down or if he doesn't play well.

Woll has earned the right to get more starts, but you need to have a legitimate NHL goaltender with him just incase he isn't working out.

Murray is a legitimate NHL player when healthy and beyond concussions he hasn't had reoccurring injuries. If he can't be moved, keep him and move Samsonov
