I think his point is, Mesar was a 1st round pick (26th I believe) the 2023 Florida pick is a 1st round pick and Beck + Dvorak + 4th is about the same as a 1st value wise = 3 1st round picks

No one thought Romanov was worth the 13th pick, or Chiarot a unprotected 1st but they happened. And its reported that the Jackets are willing to move that pick (24th overall)

Mesar is a B prospect. No one is giving you a 1st for him and he may never come to the NHL. Maybe has the value of a 2nd.

Beck is a B prospect, 2nd round pick. Valued as 2nd round pick.

Dvorak is an overpaid, injured bottom sixer. Adds zero value on the trade for the Jets. Mesar would be compensation for taking Dvorak's contract. Or you can keep Mesar and Dvorak, but would need to add another B prospect or pick.

4th is a 4th. Basically nothing.

So, it's a first, a decent B prospect and some unneeded filler. Nowhere close to 3 1sts in value.

Yes a prospect drafted last year in the 1st round is no longer worth a 1st rounder. Nils Lundkvist got a 1st and he was like 3 years out of his draft year.

Beck is worth a 2nd rounder but Dvorak is worth a 3rd and add a 4th to that, thats a 1st rounder

And Considering Dubois is at most worth a 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Habs offersheet between 6.3 and 8.4 million), getting 2 first rounders and extra is already too much

Those players might be worth that to you, but no other team would value them as such. The Jets will just trade PLD elsewhere for pieces they need and want.

habs have 0 motivation to sell so low on kovacevic. A reliable, super cheap 3rd pairing RD. Wideman takes a one way trip to laval before that deal happens.
