That's probably the bare minimum the Hawks take in a Murphy trade. Could definitely see them holding out for a better prospect like Bloom or Nadeau. All depends on how Davidson rates the Sabres F prospects

Kotkaniemi has also shown to be one of the most dominant two way centers in the NHL this season. His analytics are unreal. His isolated numbers are among the best in the NHL. Mittelstadt probably doesn't even make the Canes lineup.

In Carolina, he's not breaking up the Staal line, that has been one of the most dominant in the NHL so that's not happening. He's not beating out Svechnikov, Necas, Kotkaniemi, Jarvis, Aho, or Teravainen for a top six role. So that's not happening. So what's he coming in for? Noesen? Noesen is on an equally good scoring pace to Mitts. So no. Stastny? That's a dude that can play top six, is a multiple time 20 goal scorer, and proves more offense to the lineup than Mitts would. So no. Stepan? Maybe. But then Kase's going to be back from injury soon, and he's a better fit into the lineup than Mitts.

Cry all you want, Mitts likely doesn't make the Canes lineup, and there's no reason to do this sooooooooo...
