I feel like Holtz can be better then Meier in the future. but, Also Foote, Haula and a first. That seems like overpay to me.

It's basically a second and Walsh for Gibson retained. Blackwood is always inquired and Johnsson is AHLER. I think it's a somewhat fair deal. Maybe a 1st instead of a 2nd

So walk away from Blackwood and try something else than ANOTHER bad goalie!

If Gibson had a good team in front of him ( can't say he has had one) he can be incredible. I've seen him keep Anaheim in game the had no business being in.

It is a little much for Meier, and maybe Holtz can score at Meier’s pace but I don’t see him bringing the physical game that Meier does and I think that is why he’s more valuable long term

Too much for Meier and Gibson is legit awful. You argued his sv% was a product of his team, but he's deep in the negative on GSAx the last few years per both moneypuck and NST

Ah yes, yet another Gibson hater. Ignore the fact that he was good enough to get the invite to the all-star game last year. Ignore the fact that he walked into the all-star break rocking a 0.922 SV% and a 2.49 GAA. Ignore the fact that he is a genuinely great goalie who has been dragging a half competitive team at best through 50 games a year.

You can keep him. That's my stance. I don't want any goalie entering 30 making that money with an excuse of a bad team holding them back. I wouldn't care about GAA, but that isn't a Sv% that is helping the Devils as they move forward. Few goalies age well into their 30s. Silly use of assets.

Regarding Holtz, the value seems all over the place depending on who you ask.
NJD is a deep team, he can't crack the line up, but he's going to be better than Meier depending on who you ask.
Can't wait for the Sharks to trade or sign him so we can move on.
